We have an opportunity for a Corporate Security Concierge to join Auckland Council’s Physical Security Advisory Services team, based at our Albany office.

In this frontline role, you will provide a visible security presence across Council’s corporate properties, combining security operations with professional concierge services. You will help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for staff, visitors and contractors while supporting incident response, emergency management and day to day security activities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting proactive security patrols and monitoring risks across corporate sites
• Responding to incidents, alarms, suspicious activity and challenging behaviour
• Supporting emergency responses, evacuations, lockdowns and business continuity events
• Managing site access processes for staff, visitors and contractors
• Coordinating security requirements for VIP visits, events and other high-profile activities
• Providing concierge services, including visitor assistance, wayfinding and escorts
• Maintaining incident reports, security records and documentation
• Building effective relationships with Council teams, security providers, Police and community stakeholders
• Undertaking Building Warden duties and providing first aid assistance when required

You are an experienced security or customer service professional with strong situational awareness, sound judgement and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You are confident engaging with people, managing challenging situations and building trusted relationships across a diverse stakeholder group.

To be successful, you will bring:

• Experience in security, concierge, customer service or a similar operational environment
• Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
• The ability to assess risk and make sound decisions under pressure
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• A professional, discreet and customer-focused approach
• Experience completing incident reports and using security or reporting systems
• Resilience, adaptability and a commitment to safety and security outcomes
• Willingness to undertake Building Warden and emergency management responsibilities

A Security Certificate of Approval (COA), NCEA Security Level 2 qualification, current First Aid Certificate, and experience in corporate security, emergency management or working alongside Police and emergency services would be advantageous.
