Job Description

The Role

The Corporate Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing quality operations in our production plants. This role will ensure our sites are operating under FSMA, HACCP, and FDA requirements and company SOPs to meet Green Thumb Quality and Compliance Standards. Additionally, this role will work closely with the Director Quality Systems and Compliance and the Regulatory Compliance team to establish procedures in the QMS and ensure sites are operating compliantly to Federal, State, and local cannabis (including Hemp) regulations. The successful candidate will work the Quality Leadership team to develop, manage, and execute the organization’s product, consumer safety, and quality assurance policies and establish performance standards, procedures, and audit controls to meet business requirements. The Corporate QA Manager will develop and manage the internal audit program and participate in audits as required. The ideal candidate will have strong Project Management and continuous improvement background with an ability to manage multiple projects across multiple customers and apply efficient approaches to analytical and reporting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and implements company quality standards.
  • Accomplishes quality assurance objectives by monitoring, reviewing, and enforcing policies and procedures; this is inclusive of training, communication, and documentation.
  • Manages the network’s Quality Incident Program.
  • Trains and motivates employees to ensure that quality standards are met.
  • Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing to information analysis.
  • Meets financial objectives by estimating requirements, preparing annual budgets, and scheduling expenditures.
  • Develops quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses and monitoring procedures.
  • Validates product specifications’ quality attributes and develops corresponding quality processes.
  • Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, and compliance audits.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provides technical expertise and support to assigned Cultivation/Production facilities across GTI’s network and to various quality-focused projects.
  • Prepares Quality Operations data, metrics, and performance analyses for Management Review meetings.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements preventative actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Plans and assesses audit results and analyses of non-conformity.
  • Interfaces with cross-functional internal stakeholders related to risk and compliance.
  • Supports the administration and maintenance of the company’s document management system, ensuring documents remain current, accurate, and compliance.
  • Support and engage with cross-functional leaders to review serious adverse events to ensure FDA regulations, state, and local regulatory requirements are met.
  • Support and engage with other Quality and Compliance leadership to oversee the handling of customer complaints and all internal and external CAPA processes.
  • Manage and develop quality metrics related to Quality Incident Management program and drive outcomes focused on root cause issue elimination and checks for effectiveness.
  • Serve as an expert in applicable domestic and international regulations and standards such as FDA, USDA, SQF, and CSQ.
  • Develop remote internal audits programs to be used when applicable.
  • Assists in the hiring process for Quality roles as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 + years’ experience in food manufacturing quality assurance experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, master’s degree in microbiology, food science, or chemical engineering preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQF, FSMA, and other food safety and quality systems is required.
  • Must be HACCP and PCQI certified.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of product-specific standards, materials, and manufacturing processes/techniques.
  • High level of accountability and technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have the knowledge and skills required to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Track record of engaging teams and creating a collaborative culture.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional computer skills in Microsoft® Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).
  • Experience using electronic Quality Management Systems preferred
  • Travel up to 20% of the time may be required.

  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Must possess valid driver’s license
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry

The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
