TEAM DESCRIPTION

This position sits within the Engineering Division CFO team, part of the Finance & Planning pillar of Corporate Planning & Management (CPM) division.

The Engineering CFO team serves as the strategic finance partner to the firm's Engineering organization, supporting investment planning, resource allocation, financial governance, and performance management across one of the firm's most significant areas of investment. The team works closely with Engineering leadership, COO teams, and senior firm management to help ensure capital, headcount, and operating expenditures are deployed effectively in support of the firm's strategic priorities.

A core responsibility of the team is leading the firm's Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB) process for Engineering. ZBB is the primary investment planning and governance framework used to evaluate, prioritize, and monitor technology investments across the organization. Through this process, the team provides transparency into Engineering resources and spending, supports investment decision-making, and helps ensure alignment between strategic objectives and financial outcomes.

Beyond budgeting, the Engineering CFO team delivers reporting, and analytical insights that support operational and strategic decisions throughout the year. Team members gain broad exposure to the firm's technology strategy, financial management processes, and senior leadership decision-making through close collaboration with stakeholders across the firm.

The Engineering CFO team is seeking a highly motivated Analyst to support financial planning, investment governance, and strategic decision-making across the Engineering Division.

As an Analyst, you will play a key role in the firm's Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB) process, helping drive transparency, investment prioritization, and resource allocation decisions across one of the firm's largest and most strategic functions. You will partner closely with Engineering leadership, COO teams, and senior finance professionals to deliver financial analysis, budgeting insights, and data-driven recommendations that support the firm's technology investment strategy. This role offers broad exposure to Engineering finance, strategic planning, and executive decision-making while providing opportunities to develop analytical, financial, and project management skills within a highly collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, intellectual curiosity, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights. They should be comfortable working with large datasets, leveraging financial systems and technology platforms, and communicating effectively with stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the annual budget planning process and quarterly forecasting cycles across Engineering divisions.
  • Support and help execute the firm's Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB) process, including data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and perform variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Partner with Engineering COO teams, and business stakeholders to support financial reviews and investment planning discussions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes through automation and process optimization.
  • Support preparation of presentations and materials for senior management reviews
