特許知識：特許法と実務、少なくとも日本のこれらを理解している必要がある。各国の中間処理経験があれば、尚可。
技術知識：有機化学または無機化学。好ましくは、化学物質の物理特性、半導体や表示素子の製造や適用についての知識があれば、尚可。
言語：①日本語ネーティブレベル;英語ビジネスレベル（口語コミュニケーション：Conversational level以上；文書コミュニケーション：Business level以上）。もしくは、②日本語コミュニケーションレベル；英語（口語、文書ともに）ビジネスレベル以上。
