About the Role

The role represents an excellent opportunity to join our BVI office working across a broad range of corporate, finance and funds transactions and to make a significant contribution to our dynamic and growing practice. The successful candidate will provide legal advice on a broad range of established and evolving offshore matters and have exposure to some of the best legal work in the market.

The key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Advising on complex corporate, finance and funds matters, including M&A, restructurings, financings, fund formations and governance matters.
• Leading complex cross-border transactions involving BVI entities and structures.
• Drafting and negotiating sophisticated transaction, financing and fund documentation.
• Managing and developing key client relationships.
• Driving business development and practice growth.
• Supervising and mentoring lawyers across the team.
• Contributing to the continued growth and strategic direction of the BVI practice.

EXPERIENCE

What You Bring

• 10+ years' PQE with a leading onshore or offshore law firm.
• Significant experience across Corporate, Finance and Funds.
• Must be admitted to practice law in the British Virgin Islands, England and Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland
• Strong track record leading complex cross-border transactions.
• Excellent technical, drafting, leadership and business development skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A proven ability to provide timely and commercial advice to clients; and
• The ability to work as part of a team, lead and supervise attorneys and paralegals and take an active part in sharing knowledge and experience within the team.

This post requires significant attention to detail, professionalism, ability to multi-task, and excellent organisational, prioritisation and communications skills. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to adhere to internal policies and procedures.
