About LV Petroleum

LV Petroleum is a fast-expanding, privately held company headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada. Founded in 2014, we own and operate a growing portfolio of travel centers, convenience stores, gas stations, and quick-service restaurants across the United States. With more than 80 locations and nearly 6,000 team members, we are revolutionizing the travel center and petroleum retail industry through strategic acquisitions, new development, and a strong focus on operational excellence and customer experience.

We are in an aggressive growth phase with a robust pipeline of property acquisitions, ground-up developments, and sale-leaseback opportunities. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a talented Corporate Counsel to play a pivotal role in supporting our real estate strategy and mitigating legal risks in a high-velocity environment.

This is a high-impact, hands-on position ideal for a dynamic, business-oriented attorney who enjoys working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to close deals quickly while protecting the company’s interests.

Must be local to the Las Vegas area and actively licensed in good standing with the Nevada State Bar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal counsel on all real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing (ground leases and triple-net), joint ventures, and land use matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and documents, such as purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, development agreements, joint venture documents, and financing/loan documents.
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders in Acquisitions, Development, Operations, Finance, and Construction to support project development, entitlement processes, and financing activities.
  • Lead and oversee due diligence efforts for property acquisitions and dispositions, including reviews of title, zoning, environmental issues, surveys, easements, and entitlements.
  • Ensure company-wide compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local real estate, land use, zoning, and petroleum retail regulations.
  • Advise senior leadership on potential legal risks, mitigation strategies, and business opportunities related to real estate investments and developments.
  • Manage legal issues involving zoning approvals, entitlements, title matters, easements, and land use permits.
  • Handle litigation, claims, regulatory inquiries, or disputes related to property ownership or land use, coordinating effectively with outside counsel when necessary.
  • Support broader corporate legal needs as they arise, with a primary focus on real estate.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Nevada, in good standing (required).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in real estate law, preferably a mix of in-house and/or law firm experience.
  • Strong background in commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions/dispositions, leasing (especially triple-net and ground leases), development, entitlements, and financing.
  • Experience in the retail, petroleum, convenience store, travel center, or hospitality sectors is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority deals in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business advice.
  • High degree of business acumen, sound judgment, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with sale-leaseback transactions and petroleum-specific real estate matters is a strong plus.

Benefits

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary and performance-based bonus.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
  • Opportunity to make a direct impact in a high-growth company with significant expansion plans.
  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial work environment based in Las Vegas.
  • Direct access to executive leadership.

If you are a proactive real estate attorney who thrives on deal flow, enjoys being a trusted business advisor, and wants to help fuel the continued growth of one of the industry’s most dynamic companies, we encourage you to apply.
