Armaguard is going through a process of transformation as it readies itself for the future of currency requirements. This presents opportunity for fascinating legal work, from ACCC regulation and compliance, transformation and project activity, as well as navigating a brand-new regulatory landscape for the cash distribution framework. We are looking for a solutions-focused Lawyer to join the Legal Team. Reporting to Senior Counsel, the successful candidate will take a pivotal role within a legal team that works collaboratively to provide a responsive and effective legal service across the various business units in the Group.

We are looking for a commercial or corporate lawyer, on a full-time, ongoing basis. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a legal team that is highly valued by the business and works collaboratively to provide a responsive and effective legal service across the various business units in the Group.

Key accountabilities for the role you will be responsible for

  • A broad range of legal work from regulatory compliance, customer contracts, ATM leasing, supplier and subcontractor arrangements
  • Negotiating general commercial contracts and ensuring Armaguard’s Group members commercial and legal interests are properly represented
  • Supporting senior legal team members with regulatory compliance and M&A matters
  • Assisting with ensuring Armaguard Group entities maintain licensing and comply with regulatory requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience practicing as a lawyer either in mid-large firm private practice or equivalent in-house legal experience
  • A law degree from an Australian tertiary institution and admission to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility, adaptability, commerciality and a team-orientated attitude
  • Experience negotiating general commercial contracts
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Knowledge and experience in a regulatory environment would be well regarded
  • A keen interest in learning a new business and taking on new areas of practice
  • Self-sufficiency in relation to document preparation, diary management and file management

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a pre-employment Criminal History Check, medical fitness for work and Credit Agency Check.
