Pay or shift range:$59,124.00 USD to$87,881.00 USD

The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Responsibilities will include being involved with several projects and tasks related to the maintenance, support, and development of the technology systems at Morton Community Bank. This position will provide opportunities to utilize current skillsets, develop new skills and work closely within a team. The administrator will be challenged to solve problems in a creative and secure manner, to be forward thinking with technology and be willing to take on new tasks with enthusiasm. The administrator will be expected to perform at a high level, being willing to get the job done, ensuring services remain available and improving reliability throughout the technology stack the administrator is responsible for.

Primary Responsibilities:

IT Systems Administrator

  • Performing all work in accordance with company policies and guidelines
  • System monitoring and maintenance including configuration and security management, patching, automation, hardening, and systems upgrades.
  • Accurate documentation of the network, data flows, policies, and procedures
  • Working closely with partners, vendors, team members and other Bank staff in a professional manner
  • Ensuring that systems are configured to be available, resilient, and secure.
  • Making sure that backups are successful, protected, and available to guarantee the rapid recovery of files/systems.
  • Using monitoring systems and logs to troubleshoot issues as they arise and to also develop preventive maintenance strategies to support system availability and performance goals.
  • Participating in and developing tests to ensure our systems are recoverable.
  • Reacting to security events and working with appropriate Bank staff to rapidly respond to any malicious activity on the network, both internally and externally.
  • Working on assigned projects to support Bank growth, development, efficiency, security, and availability goals.
  • Planning for growth and device replacements
  • Working with other Bank employees to assist with troubleshooting problems when needed.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Employees, who work 7 ½ continuous hours or more, must take a 30-minute uninterrupted lunch break no later than 5 hours after beginning their work
  • Flexible work schedules occasional early morning, evening, and weekend work
  • Rotating weekly after-hours on call with other System Administrators to provide response, remediation, and continued availability of critical services within defined response and remediation timelines.
  • Reliable personal vehicle (car or truck), at which mileage will be paid, to transport equipment/documents securely and safely to the outlying locations.

Education and Qualifications

Essential:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree in computer science and three (3) years of systems administrator experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Self-motivated to learn new technologies and learning how to improve existing technologies.
  • High standard to achieve or exceed goals within the organization.
  • Good communication and interaction skills
  • Security conscious and a drive to continually improve the security posture of the organization.
  • BSA and other Bank related training through BAI is required annually.

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science

Experience

Essential:

  • Experience with software installs on server infrastructure.
  • Ability to troubleshoot using log and traffic flow data.
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts.
  • Experience with security and hardening of endpoint systems.
  • Ability to triage and prioritize multiple issues to ensure support for business operations.
  • Experience with Windows workstations, servers, and Active Directory.
  • Microsoft 365 experience.
  • Have working knowledge of running, maintaining, and improving the backups of data systems.
  • Email server and email security experience.
  • Three (3) years of system administration experience.

Desirable:

  • Linux operating system experience
  • SQL administration and reporting
  • Load balancing
  • Cisco phone system experience
  • Automation
  • PowerShell, Python or other scripting experience
  • Containerization

Licenses and Certifications

Essential: Valid Driver’s License
