Your Opportunity at SECURE

Summer positions will run May-August 2027. Co-op and Internship positions may extend beyond the summer term depending on the requirements of the academic program and the business. These terms may be 4, 8, 12, or 16 months in length.

To be eligible for the SECURE Student program, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available from May to August.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent residency, or a valid work permit.
  • Complete a Medical and/or Alcohol and Drug test if the role is considered safety-sensitive.

Your Opportunity at SECURE

As our Corporate Health & Safety Student, you'll support key initiatives that strengthen SECURE's Health, Safety & Environment Management System (HSEMS) and Emergency Management Program. Working alongside the Corporate Health & Safety team, you'll contribute to meaningful projects focused on continuous improvement, document management, emergency preparedness, and compliance while gaining valuable experience supporting a national organization.

This role is based out of our Brookfield Office in downtown Calgary, Alberta.

The Team

You'll join a collaborative and supportive Corporate Health & Safety team that partners closely with Operations and business leaders across the organization. The team values open communication, continuous improvement, and working together to promote a strong culture of safety and operational excellence.

Work Environment

This is a full-time student position based in our Calgary office, working Monday to Friday. You'll work in a professional, team-oriented environment with opportunities to collaborate across multiple business functions while gaining hands-on experience supporting corporate health and safety initiatives.

A Day in The Life

  • Support the ongoing development and continuous improvement of SECURE's Health, Safety & Environment Management System (HSEMS).
  • Assist with updates to Emergency Management documentation, including emergency response plans and verification of emergency contact information.
  • Support the planning and coordination of emergency exercises.
  • Assist with HSEMS documentation, template standardization, document management, and process improvements.
  • Coordinate and support Health & Safety initiatives and review committee activities.
  • Assist with the development and communication of Health & Safety policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Support external audits and help track follow-up action items.
  • Compile and analyze Health & Safety statistics and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support corporate Health & Safety objectives.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in a diploma or undergraduate degree program at a Canadian post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies following the work term.
  • Currently pursuing studies in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, Business Administration, Commerce, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
