Key Responsibilities:

  • Own client relationships at board and shareholder level and carry accountability for a personal revenue target.
  • Lead and oversee execution across sell-side, buy-side and capital-raising engagements through to completion.
  • Set commercial terms, fee structures and retainers and protect the quality and reputation of the practice.
  • Advise on deal structure, SPA mechanics, completion accounts and earn-outs alongside legal and tax advisers.
  • Navigate public-market and regulated situations, including FIRB clearance and obligations under the Corporations Act and ASIC.
  • Recruit, lead and develop the deals team and contribute to firm-wide strategy and brand.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • CA (CAANZ) or CPA Australia, or the CFA, with a recognised degree in finance, accounting or economics.
  • Twelve or more years in corporate finance, M&A or investment banking, including a sustained record at Director or Partner level.
  • Demonstrable origination track record across Australian mid-market transactions.
  • Fluency in the ASX listing environment and the FIRB foreign-investment regime.
  • Working knowledge of the Corporations Act and ASIC regulatory perimeter relevant to corporate finance.
  • Authoritative command of valuation under DCF, comparables and LBO frameworks.
  • Strong grasp of SPA mechanics, net debt, working capital and completion accounts.
  • Established relationships across the private equity, superannuation, infrastructure and family-office buyer universe.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with the gravitas to advise boards and win mandates.
  • A track record of leading and building high-performing advisory teams.

Preferred Experience:

  • A portable book of business and an active pipeline of near-term opportunities.
  • Sector specialisation in technology, consumer, healthcare, resources or financial services.
  • Experience of cross-border transactions connecting Australia with Asia, North America or Europe.
  • Exposure to public-market and takeover situations on the ASX.
  • Prior experience within a recognised global accounting-firm deals practice.
  • Familiarity with debt advisory and the structuring of acquisition finance.

Compensation:

Competitive package commensurate with seniority and experience, including base, performance-based bonus, long-term incentives and (where applicable) partner-track participation.
