Job Description

The Corporate Finance Director is the senior Finance leader responsible for enterprise‑level financial governance, policies, frameworks, and strategic coordination across Nutreco.

The role ensures the integrity, consistency, and forward‑looking development of Nutreco’s financial architecture, enabling the business to execute its strategy with discipline, transparency, and control. The Corporate Finance Director sets group‑wide financial standards and frameworks and ensures coherent application across Business Lines, Global Functions, and Finance Operations.

In line with Nutreco’s Finance transformation, the role has shifted away from direct Business Line controlling activities and now focuses on group governance, financial policy, risk management, enterprise reporting frameworks, and strategic finance coordination. It includes corporate Accounting and in- and external reporting, Controlling for corporate functions, Corporate finance systems, finance planning and analysis.

The Corporate Finance Director reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is a member of the Finance Leadership Team.

Key Accountabilities

Enterprise Financial Strategy & Frameworks

  • Act as senior advisor to the CFO on enterprise financial strategy, long‑term value creation, and financial governance.
  • Develop and maintain Nutreco’s group‑wide financial frameworks, principles, and methodologies.
  • Ensure alignment between corporate strategy, financial policies, and execution across the Finance organization.

Financial Policies, Governance & Compliance

  • Own Nutreco’s global financial policies, guidelines, and control frameworks, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal requirements.
  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application of financial policies across Business Lines, Finance Operations, and Global Functions.
  • Act as key counterpart for Internal Audit, external auditors, and risk‑related governance bodies on corporate finance topics.

Enterprise Reporting & Financial Integrity

  • Ensure robustness, consistency, and transparency of Nutreco’s enterprise financial reporting frameworks.
  • Oversee group‑level financial principles related to accounting, reporting standards, and disclosures (in close collaboration with specialized CoEs).
  • Safeguard financial integrity, accuracy, and comparability of financial information across the enterprise.

Financial Risk Management

  • Lead the development and coordination of enterprise‑level financial risk management policies and practices.
  • Ensure financial risk considerations (e.g. liquidity, compliance, control effectiveness) are embedded in decision‑making and governance processes.
  • Support the CFO and Management Board in understanding and managing financial risk exposure.

Cross‑Finance Coordination & Enablement

  • Act as a central coordination point between Business Line Finance Directors, Finance Operations Director, and Finance CoEs.
  • Enable effective collaboration across the Finance operating model by providing clarity on roles, decision rights, and escalation paths.
  • Support coherence and consistency across Finance initiatives without duplicating Business Line or Operations ownership.

Leadership & Capability Building

  • Contribute to the development of Finance leadership capability at enterprise level, fostering a strong governance and integrity mindset.
  • Support talent development and succession planning for key Corporate Finance and governance‑related roles.
  • Promote continuous improvement of corporate finance frameworks in line with evolving business needs.
