Job Description

Old Mill is looking for a newly ACA-qualified accountant to join our Corporate Finance team. This is a rare opportunity to step into the world of deals, strategy and transactions whilst continuing to build on your practice foundations within a supportive and ambitious firm.

This role would suit someone currently working in an accountancy practice who has recently qualified and is beginning to think about what comes next. Perhaps you’ve enjoyed the commercial side of client work most, are curious about how businesses grow, buy, and sell and are looking for an opportunity to broaden your experience beyond accounts and compliance work.

Opportunities to move into Corporate Finance at this stage in your career do not come up often, and this role offers the chance to gain hands-on exposure to exciting and meaningful project work whilst learning directly from an experienced and supportive team.

You’ll work alongside our Corporate Finance advisers on a wide range of projects including:

  • Business sales and acquisitions
  • Company valuations
  • Financial analysis and modelling
  • Due diligence projects
  • Strategic and commercial advisory work
  • Supporting clients through key succession decisions

We are looking for someone with strong technical foundations, commercial curiosity and the motivation to learn. Your ACA qualification and experience working with clients in practice will provide an excellent platform from which to develop.

At Old Mill, we know that technical skills are only part of the picture. We are looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, communicating confidently with clients and being part of a collaborative and ambitious team.

Old Mill Corporate Finance has a simple strategy: do great work and be nice to people. We are proud of the way we work with clients and each other, and we are looking for someone who shares those values. In return, we will invest fully in your development and give you the opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing Corporate Finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has worked hard to qualify and is now looking for a role that offers variety, challenge, progression and exposure to a different and highly commercial side of the profession whilst remaining within the supportive environment of a leading advisory firm.

Benefits

At Old Mill, we go beyond the basics to offer a benefits package designed to support your personal and professional growth:

  • Generous Holiday Allowance – Start with a minimum of 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase up to 5 additional days.
  • Celebrate Your Birthday – Enjoy an extra day off to celebrate.
  • Flexible Working – Hybrid working model with 3 days a week in the office, allowing for a great work-life balance.
  • Employee Assistance Programme – Confidential support available 24/7 for your mental, physical, and financial wellbeing.
  • Ongoing Professional Development – Continuous learning and development opportunities to support your career growth.
  • Perks and Discounts – Access to exclusive employee discounts on a wide range of products and services.
  • Pension Scheme – A competitive pension to help plan for your future.
