Job Description

The Corporate Waste and SIS Environment Domain Program Specialist is responsible for two primary program areas:

  1. Subject Matter Expert and Oversight of waste (hazardous, non-hazardous, recycling, etc.) compliance activities by Stellantis NA facilities/organizations (US, CAN, and MEX) to ensure that applicable regulations are complied with, that new regulations are identified and incorporated into processes and procedures (SEBs, training, etc.), and to provide support to address any related compliance issues or risks. Additionally, the Specialist is responsible to provide support for Stellantis facilities on waste reduction and recycling initiatives to help the plant and company meet their KPI targets.
  1. The Stellantis Industrial System Environment Domain Lead role requires that the specialist engage with the SIS central team and global environment domain partners to support the plant’s execution of the Environment Domain within North America. This requires that the Specialist help in development of the Domain fundamentals, tools and standards, and drives standardization and execution of the Domain processes throughout the NA plants.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Track and monitor regulatory changes related to the management of waste,including participation with various state and federal advocacy organizations to provide a platform for Stellantis to comment on regulatory initiatives beyond individually.
  • Maintain corporate procedures and Stationary Environmental Bulletins related to waste management compliance issues.
  • Educate and train Stellantis personnel on applicable waste regulatory and corporate requirements; include the use and entry of data into HAZMIN, ETrack, and the TSDR database.
  • Identify, share and implement waste best practices to drive waste reduction and reuse activities at Stellantis facilities throughout NAFTA.
  • Work with MLM and/or other corporate organization on packaging or other initiatives to drive reductions in waste throughout the company.
  • Interface with regulatory agency representatives when necessary to address waste compliance inspections.
  • Other tasks required to achieve a compliant, robust and proactive waste compliance program for Stellantis facilities
  • Work with the Global and Regional SIS Environmental Teams on a regular basis to develop processes, procedures, fundamentals, tools and standards for implementation of the Env. Domain.
  • Be NA lead for all Environment Domain activities to drive execution by the plants in a standardized way, and support the Env Domain audits to be conducted by the Manufacturing Environmental Staff managers.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Engineering, Science or related field
  • Excellent understanding of state and federal regulations related to the management, characterization and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes (RCRA).
  • Minimum of five years of relevant environmental compliance experience such as manufacturing environmental specialist, environmental consulting, regulatory agency, etc.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite and/or other computer software database tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Environmental, Engineering, Science or related field
  • Environmental related professional certifications (e.g. PE, CHMM)
  • Automotive or manufacturing environmental compliance experience
