Job Description

The Corporate Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Technician supports the Corporate EHS Department, company facilities, and short-term field projects. This position assists with routine EHS activities, inspections, documentation, training, and field oversight. The role may temporarily support facilities or projects during mobilization, increased workloads, employee absences, or other short-term needs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide EHS support at company facilities.

• Provide short-term EHS support at company facilities and project sites.

• Assist with project mobilization, daily safety activities, and demobilization.

• Conduct workplace inspections and help track corrective actions through completion.

• Assist with preparing and reviewing activity hazard analyses, job hazard analyses, permits, and other EHS documents.

• Participate in pre-job briefings, toolbox talks, and employee safety meetings.

• Observe work activities and help ensure required controls and safe work practices are followed.

• Support incident and near-miss reporting, fact gathering, documentation, and follow-up.

• Assist with employee training, orientation, and maintenance of training records.

• Help maintain inspection reports, exposure-monitoring records, safety data sheets, and other required EHS documentation.

• Support basic industrial hygiene activities, including air monitoring, noise monitoring, heat-stress monitoring, and equipment calibration under appropriate direction.

• Assist with environmental inspections, waste-handling requirements, spill prevention, and emergency preparedness activities.

• Verify that employees are using required personal protective equipment and understand the hazards associated with their work.

• Promote employee involvement, stop-work responsibility, hazard reporting, and continuous improvement.

• Communicate EHS concerns promptly to facility, project, and Corporate EHS management.

• Perform other EHS-related duties as assigned.

Work Expectations

This position requires regular field presence and interaction with employees, supervisors, and facility or project management. Travel, temporary assignments, varying shifts, and occasional extended hours may be required based on operational and project needs.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• An associate degree or coursework in occupational safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or a related field is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of OSHA requirements and general workplace safety practices.

• Ability to recognize common workplace hazards and communicate concerns effectively.

• Strong organizational, documentation, and computer skills.

• Ability to work independently while following the direction of Corporate EHS and site management.

• Ability to travel and provide temporary support at facilities and project locations.

• Ability to work in industrial, construction, environmental, or waste-management settings and wear required personal protective equipment.

• Safety Credential such as an ASP, CSP, CIH

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in an EHS, industrial, construction, environmental, or technical support role.

• OSHA 30-hour training, HAZWOPER training, or the ability to obtain required training.

• Experience conducting inspections, delivering toolbox talks, or assisting with incident reviews.

• Familiarity with industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and basic environmental compliance activities.
