At FutureCare our Corporate Director of Environmental Services (EVS) is responsible for leading and overseeing environmental services operations across 16 company locations in the greater Baltimore Washington metro areas, ensuring exceptional standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, safety, hospitality and environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the operations, staffing, and financial performance of the facility EVS departments
  • Motivate teams, drive execution, and ensure a high level of compliance across 16 locations
  • Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Drive innovation in cleaning practices, processes, and service delivery while implementing best practices to enhance resident and team member experiences
  • Conducts comprehensive training and quality assurance programs with strong attention to detail in both resident-facing and ancillary areas of each location
  • Collaborates with facility Executive Directors to recruit, interview, hire and evaluate qualified Environmental Services Directors
  • Collaborates with facility and Corporate Nursing leadership for infection control and patient satisfaction outcomes
  • Ensures local facilities adhere to stringent infection control, sanitation, and environmental safety standards
  • Evaluates and act upon various performance metrics to optimize operational efficiencies and outcomes
  • Promotes the development of EVS Directors and team members by implementing consistent standards and measurements for employee performance
  • Develop and refine policies and procedures to ensure optimal functioning and outcomes of the facility based EVS teams
  • Conducts on site staff development and training as well as conducts quality assurance inspections and audits to support compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies, procedures and standards; recommends and develops plans of correction as necessary on a timely basis
  • Standardizes community purchasing, work routines, inventory systems, sanitation processes and safety
  • Develops working relationship with vendors to ensure compliance with organizational goals and contracts
  • Analyzes data to identify opportunities for improvement related to key indicators in environmental services
  • Other duties and projects to optimize provision housekeeping and laundry services

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive, multi-site leadership experience in hospitals, skilled nursing, assisted living settings or large-scale hospitality
  • Professional credentials such as the Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) designation are highly preferred
  • Expert understanding of federal, state, and local environmental standards and regulations including EPA, OSHA and health department guidelines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to connect and communicate effectively with associates of all levels
  • Strong knowledge of appropriate chemical usage for various situations including managing MDROs and other bacteria and viruses
  • Expertise with floor care, setting par levels and inventory management
  • Experience with enterprise wide process improvement, project management, and/or creation and execution of standards
  • Ability to travel locally to all 16 FutureCare locations
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong customer orientation to older adults
  • Strong technology skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and various purchasing programs
