Join VetCareon its path to becoming a leading acquirer and operator of animal hospitals in Canada! As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our Corporate Development team as a Corporate Development Analyst / Manager.

About the Role

This is a dynamic and entrepreneurial role that combines:

  • financial analysis,
  • transaction execution,
  • project management,
  • and relationship building.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal leadership, external advisors, and veterinary practice owners throughout the acquisition lifecycle.

Corporate Development & Transaction Execution

  • Analyze acquisition opportunities by reviewing financial statements, operational metrics, and market data to develop investment recommendations.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support acquisition analysis and due diligence activities.
  • Present and support investment recommendations to internal approval groups and senior leadership.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple stages of the acquisition and diligence process, including collaboration with external partners such as legal counsel, tax advisors, lenders, landlords, and quality of earnings providers.
  • Prepare financing and presentation materials for senior leadership and investors.
  • Support legal review processes related to Share Purchase Agreements and ancillary transaction documents.
  • Assist with post-acquisition integration activities alongside internal operational teams.
  • Manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects related to acquisition opportunities and financing initiatives.

Business Development & Relationship Management

  • Support practice sourcing and business development initiatives alongside the Marketing and Business Development teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with veterinary practice owners, industry stakeholders, and intermediaries.
  • Participate in industry conferences and networking events as a representative of VetCare.
  • Gather operational and financial information from practice owners to support internal evaluation and transaction requirements.
  • Help guide practice owners through various stages of the acquisition and transition process.

Who You Are

You are an analytical, organized, and relationship-oriented professional who enjoys solving complex problems and working in a fast-paced environment. You are comfortable balancing detailed financial analysis with strong interpersonal communication and project coordination. You thrive in entrepreneurial environments where collaboration, adaptability, and initiative are highly valued.

You Bring:

  • An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • New graduates with strong internship or co-op experience are encouraged to apply.
  • 0-3 years of experience in corporate development, valuations, financial analysis, transaction advisory, due diligence, investment banking, private equity, or related fields.
  • Interest in pursuing a CFA, CPA, and/or CBV designation is considered an asset.
  • Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and valuation principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working independently while also contributing collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using CRM software is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle required.
  • Must love pets.

Pay Rate: $70,000 - $90,000
