Group 1 Automotive, Inc is seeking to hire a Corporate Development Analyst. This role supports the Company's growth strategy through financial analysis, acquisition evaluation, strategic planning, capital allocation analysis, and corporate development initiatives.

The Corporate Development Analyst will partner closely with Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, and executive leadership to support mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, operational analysis, and enterprise growth initiatives. This role provides exposure to executive-level decision-making and plays a key role in supporting the financial analyses and strategic recommendations that drive business performance and long-term value creation.

This position is ideal for an analytical finance professional who enjoys solving complex business problems, building financial models, evaluating strategic opportunities, and supporting high-impact corporate initiatives.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Corporate Development

  • Support corporate development and M&A activities, including acquisition analysis, strategic evaluations, and disposition initiatives
  • Conduct financial and operational due diligence activities related to acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic transactions
  • Assist in evaluating strategic business opportunities, partnerships, and growth initiatives aligned with the Company's long-term objectives
  • Support acquisition strategy discussions through financial analysis, valuation modeling, and transaction evaluation
  • Assist with post-acquisition integration analysis and strategic performance tracking

Strategic Finance & Capital Allocation

  • Support analyses related to capital allocation decisions, including acquisitions, dealership investments, debt management, and other strategic initiatives
  • Develop financial models and business cases to evaluate growth opportunities and investment decisions
  • Support long-range planning, strategic forecasting, and enterprise value creation initiatives
  • Analyze operational and financial performance trends and provide recommendations to support strategic decision-making

Investor Relations & Executive Reporting

  • Support Investor Relations activities through financial analysis, peer benchmarking, industry research, and participation in investor-related meetings
  • Prepare executive presentations, Board materials, and strategic analyses for senior leadership
  • Develop reporting tools, dashboards, and presentation materials to support corporate development and strategic finance initiatives

Market Research & Strategic Analysis

  • Conduct market, industry, competitor, and economic research to support strategic planning and investment decisions
  • Monitor industry trends, acquisition activity, and competitive developments to identify opportunities and risks
  • Translate financial and operational data into actionable business insights

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Investor Relations, Accounting, and executive leadership teams on strategic initiatives
  • Support ad hoc projects and analyses across strategic finance, corporate development, and enterprise planning functions
  • Serve as a resource to team members and stakeholders by providing analytical support and financial insights

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • 4–6 years of experience in:
    • Corporate Development
    • Strategic Finance
    • Investment Banking
    • Transaction Advisory
    • FP&A
    • M&A Advisory
    • Or other analytical finance roles
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Experience supporting acquisition analysis, strategic planning, valuation, or capital allocation initiatives
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems and develop actionable recommendations

Preferred

  • Experience supporting M&A transactions, due diligence activities, and post-close analyses
  • Experience supporting Investor Relations initiatives and executive-level reporting
  • Experience within a public company, multi-entity organization, or consumer-facing industry
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • PowerPoint
    • Financial modeling
    • Data analysis and reporting tools
  • Exposure to Board-level materials and strategic planning processes
