Job Description

The attorney filling this role serves as counsel for Pfizer clients across the Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) organization on various supply–related transactions, including transactions led by PGS Business Development (BD), Worldwide Business Development (WWBD), External Supply and Pfizer CentreOne (PC1). In addition, this role requires strategic counseling on alliance management, commercial disputes and supply chain matters. This individual will be accountable for partnering with a wide variety of business clients and Legal colleagues to support the referenced organizations, collaborating with colleagues in WWBD Legal, R&D Legal, Commercial BU Legal, Litigation and IP Legal. This individual must handle highly complex and critical matters independently and be highly capable and well-suited to working in a fast-paced, matrix environment to optimize client service.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advise and counsel PGS BD, External Supply, PC1, PGS Procurement, and the Global Supply Chain teams on negotiation, drafting, and alliance management for supply–related transactions

  • Support Quality organization on quality issues that may impact supply of product and related work with External Supply and PC1 on transactional matters

  • Serve as a manufacturing and supply subject matter expert for other Pfizer Legal Division practice groups

  • Participate in template and training teams to develop appropriate documents for supported client groups and drive efficient use of the templates for routine agreements by the clients, with support from legal professionals as appropriate

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Admission to practice law in US

  • JD plus 7+ years of legal experience, including drafting, negotiation, and alliance management support of life sciences transactions

  • Experience counseling clients on transactional matters relating to manufacturing, quality, and supply

  • Experience with counseling clients on the management of significant commercial disputes, including issues impacting manufacturing, quality, or supply

  • Ability to manage complex, fast-paced, high-visibility matters on an independent basis with sound judgment in terms of engaging and briefing leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to understand and operate effectively in the Pfizer organization, particularly the matrix structure and with enabling functions and business units

  • Proven ability to manage high volume workload and resolve pressing needs while tracking progress towards longer term goals

  • Strategic and proactive. Attention to detail and anticipates needs and able to prioritize quickly without explicit guidance

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in communicating and interacting with senior leaders, across geographies and cultures

  • Possesses a high energy level, sense of urgency, creativity, decisiveness, and ability to work well independently or in a team and under pressure

  • Demonstrated problem solving, project management and analytic skills

  • Demonstrates sound business judgment and acumen

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $189,200.00 to $315,400.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. The annual base salary for this position in Tampa, FL ranges from $170,300.00 to $283,900.00.
