In This Role You Will:

  • Provide strategic legal advice that enables confident business decisions and supports TAL's growth.
  • Guide the development and distribution of life insurance products while managing legal and regulatory risk.
  • Negotiate commercial arrangements that strengthen partnerships and deliver business value.
  • Protect TAL's interests across a range of corporate legal matters, including contracts and intellectual property.
  • Ensure customer communications and marketing activities meet regulatory and compliance expectations.
  • Influence business outcomes by identifying and responding to emerging regulatory developments.
  • Contribute to industry reform and advocacy efforts that shape the future of life insurance and superannuation.

Qualifications

  • Admitted legal practitioner with at least 3-5+ years' post qualification experience
  • Strong knowledge of financial services regulation, including life insurance and consumer protection frameworks
  • Excellent written communication and drafting skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues
  • Sound commercial judgement and a balanced approach to legal risk and business outcomes
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic and evolving environment
  • Collaborative, approachable style with a genuine commitment to knowledge sharing and team success
  • Curiosity, adaptability and a proactive approach to industry developments and continuous learning
