Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Corporate Counsel to act as the primary legal advisor to TGI Sport’s operations across North America (US and Canada) and South America, providing legal support across the group’s virtual advertising and LED sales and operations and media rights sales and acquisitions activities in those regions, including dedicated contracting and general legal support for the TGI Wildcard US and IEG World businesses. The role also provides general procurement, corporate and company secretarial support across the North and South America regions, and supports the business on disputes and HR/people matters as needed. The role reports to the Chief Legal Officer, with day-to-day support from a Senior Legal Counsel based in London.
Responsibilities:
To be the primary legal advisor for TGI Sport’s Tech Services business units across US, Canada and South America, with a particular focus on virtual advertising, LED operations and media rights sales and acquisitions, working closely with some of the largest sports rights holders across the region. This includes:
TGI Sport’s Tech Services operations – North and South America (Virtual Advertising, LED Operations and Media Rights)
- drafting, negotiation and review of related commercial and technology agreements;
- supporting the acquisition and sale of sports media rights inventory for the region;
- monitoring and ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory matters; and maintaining a broad expertise in media and technology law, with a particular focus on their application to sports and sports rights holders.
TGI Wildcard US and IEG World:
- To provide dedicated customer contracting and general legal support to TGI Wildcard US, a global creative agency with offices across North America, the UK and Australia, including supplier contracts for live events and activations operated by TGI Wildcard in North America; and
- to provide dedicated customer contracting and general legal support
- to IEG World, a sponsorship sales agency offering comprehensive services from strategy and valuation to deal acquisition support.
Procurement, Corporate and Company Secretarial:
- To provide legal support and advice in relation to procurement processes for TGI Sport’s North and South America businesses, including the drafting, negotiation and review of related agreements
(North and South America):
- To support corporate and company secretarial matters for TGI Sport’s North and South America group entities, including group structuring, entity management and other corporate governance compliance matters; and
- To support corporate matters more broadly across the group, under the instruction of the Chief Legal Officer, as needed.
Other roles and responsibilities:

Risk Management: Identifying and helping to mitigate potential legal risks to TGI Sport in the region, including providing first-line guidance on privacy, data protection and information security matters (escalating to the global privacy lead as required).

Process and Governance: Identifying and implementing internal processes and documents to increase efficiency in the TGI Sport legal function and TGI Sport’s compliance with its legal and governance requirements, and supporting the development and implementation of global governance and compliance initiatives, including in relation to modern slavery, data privacy, anti-bribery and anti-money laundering.

Contracts and Legal Tech: Maintaining TGI Sport’s contracts register and legal documentation in accordance with company policies, and supporting the use of legal tech throughout our operations.

Disputes: Supporting the business in relation to disputes and dispute resolution matters as needed.

HR/People: Providing legal support on HR/people matters across North and South America, as needed.

External Counsel: Liaising with, and supporting the management of, external counsel as appropriate.

Internal Training: Delivering internal training and updates on relevant legal topics, such as privacy, data protection, contracts and supplier engagement.

Legal Updates: Staying informed on relevant legal trends and provide updates to senior management.
- To be responsible for other duties consistent with the role.
KPIS:
- Business unit and individual KPIs to be agreed on an annual basis
Qualifications:
- US qualified attorney (Illinois or New York bar, or other US state bar, approximately 3 – 5 years’ PQE) with post-qualification experience in a well-regarded law firm or in-house role.
- Strong contracts background, with experience across sports technology, sports media rights and general corporate/commercial matters.
- Demonstrable experience in technology contracting is essential, reflecting the role's focus on supporting a sports technology business; experience in broadcasting and/or data protection and privacy matters would be advantageous.
- Spanish language skills would be helpful, given the role’s support for South American operations, but are not essential.
- Previous experience in the sports media or sports technology industry is desirable, but not essential.
