Our Role:

We are currently seeking two experienced Corporate Counsel to join our friendly in-house legal team.

Reporting to the General Counsel, these roles offer the opportunity to work within a large and complex national organisation, providing high-quality legal support across the business.

We have two opportunities available:

  • A general advisory role, supporting a broad range of legal matters across the organisation
  • A property-focused role, with a strong emphasis on leases, agreements for lease, and freehold acquisitions across Australia

Your Impact:

  • Provide clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of matters
  • Draft and review high-quality legal documents, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business needs
  • Support complex negotiations and represent the organisation in legal matters, including mediations and tribunals where required
  • Partner closely with stakeholders across the organisation, building trusted relationships and influencing outcomes
  • Manage external legal advisers effectively, ensuring value and alignment with business objectives
  • Contribute to the development of policies, precedents and risk management practices
  • Translate complex legal concepts into simple, actionable guidance for the business
  • Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing legal team

You’ll bring to the table:

  • A minimum of 5 years post admission experience as a legal practitioner in Australia, in a property, commercial or corporate law role.
  • Experience in employment law and/or litigation/dispute resolution will also be highly regarded.
  • Experience conducting complex negotiations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both as part of an inter-disciplinary team and independently with limited supervision as the context requires.
  • Ability to produce quality work within agreed timeframes to meet client expectations.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to liaise at all levels within an organisation.
  • Current QLD Blue Card

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. Together, we are committed to improving the health outcomes for children today and in the future.

In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
