Job Purpose

Fulbright University Vietnam recognises that a strong and trusted corporate brand is essential to the university’s long term sustainability and its mission critical goals, including student recruitment, fundraising, partnerships, policy engagement, and public trust. The Corporate Brand Manager will lead the development and execution of Fulbright’s corporate brand and reputation strategy, ensuring that our purpose, values, and distinctive identity are translated into clear narratives, consistent brand experiences, and measurable communication outcomes across key stakeholder groups.

Roles and Responsibilities

The position’s primary responsibilities include but is not limited to

1. Corporate Brand Strategy and Governance

  • Translate Fulbright’s corporate strategy into a practical brand operating system, including narrative direction, brand principles, standards, governance mechanisms, and a quarterly roadmap.
  • Govern institutional brand consistency across platforms, programs, units, and high-exposure moments, both online and offline, through toolkits, templates, review tiers, and approval workflows.
  • Ensure units across the university understand the corporate brand strategy and strategic goals, align their action plans accordingly, and represent Fulbright consistently in all brand-relevant activities.

2. Strategic Communications

  • Develop and maintain a Brand Message Hierarchy that aligns with corporate strategy and serves priority stakeholder groups with clear message variants and proof points.
  • Lead end-to-end institutional brand campaigns and events, from insight framing and ideation to integrated planning, execution orchestration, and evaluation.
  • Map relevant university initiatives and activities to the message hierarchy as communication architecture to ensure comprehensive coverage, coherence, and meaningful engagement from internal to external audiences.
  • Own editorial direction and day-to-day performance for corporate channels to ensure message pull-through, high content quality, and consistent brand expression.

3. Reputation, Issues, and Risk Management

  • Proactively strengthen Fulbright’s reputation by identifying and developing high-impact reputation-building initiatives, such as signature narratives, proof-led storytelling, strategic moments, third-party credibility signals, and visibility programs aligned with institutional priorities
  • Establish and run an early-warning and escalation system, including alerting, triage, decision rights, and response workflows.
  • Build and maintain issues and crisis communications readiness, including holding statements, Q&A banks, spokesperson briefs, and scenario exercises as needed.
  • Deploy brand recovery strategy and trust rebuilding plans after sensitive incidents through disciplined narrative and proof-led communications.

4. Strategic Stakeholder Engagement and Channel Relationships

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key media, influencers/KOLs, community group administrators, and Vietnam-based platform representatives to strengthen Fulbright’s visibility, credibility, and responsible reach.
  • Activate these relationships through disciplined briefings and collaboration programs, ensuring brand alignment, risk control, and measurable impact (reach, engagement quality, message pull-through).

5. Team and Cross-functional Leadership

  • Lead and develop a small corporate brand team (including staff and interns) through clear planning cadences, coaching, performance standards, and execution discipline.
  • Build a proactive, accountable, and high-trust working culture that delivers consistently strong outputs and outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely across units, align priorities and action plans with diverse stakeholder groups, and build confidence and trust through clarity, reliability, and shared success.

Education:

o Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or a related field.

o Master’s degree is preferred.

Employment/Professional Experience:

o Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in corporate brand management, strategic communications, public relations, or integrated communications, with prior experience in a comparable role, with at least 2 years at management position.

o Demonstrated track record of building and protecting organizational reputation in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

o Proven experience in executive communications, media relations, and crisis and issues management, including advising senior leaders and preparing spokesperson materials.

o Strong capability in research, measurement, and evaluation, including stakeholder insights, brand or reputation tracking, sentiment monitoring, and impact reporting.

o Experience managing budgets, agencies, and cross-functional projects; people leadership experience is strongly preferred.

Other details: This is a full-time position based in Ho Chi Minh City. Occasional travel within Vietnam and abroad is required.
