The Corporate Affairs & Internal Communications Intern is a unique, well-rounded role offering hands-on experience across both internal and external communications at the largest food and beverage company in the world. You will support Corporate Affairs initiatives — including government relations, public policy, and stakeholder engagement — while also contributing to internal communications across One Operations and the Center for Demand Generation (CDG). From crafting leadership messages and huddle content to monitoring policy developments and supporting advocacy efforts, this role sits at the intersection of storytelling, strategy, and business impact.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants broad exposure to communications in a corporate environment and is energized by a fast-paced, dynamic team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor and analyze local, state, and federal policy issues relevant to the organization and support the planning and execution of advocacy and stakeholder engagement initiatives
  • Attend meetings, briefings, and events and provide clear, concise summaries of key discussions and outcomes
  • Support the development of internal communications materials, including organizational announcements, leadership messages, presentations, and recurring business updates
  • Assist with CDG and One Ops business rhythms, including huddle preparation, content updates, and meeting recaps
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, stories, and updates for a variety of internal communication channels
  • Support monthly e-newsletters, Town Hall logistics, and enterprise-wide communications as needed
  • Prepare presentations and materials for a range of internal and external audiences
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to strategic discussions

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Public Policy, Political Science, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
  • Demonstrates a strong level of academic success (Cumulative GPA 3.0+)
  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in communications, government, public affairs, or a related field is a plus but not required

SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences
  • Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Creative thinker who brings fresh, out-of-the-box ideas to the table
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Proactive, curious, and eager to learn across multiple areas of the business

About Nestlé

As the world’s largest food and beverage company we are driven by a simple aim: unlocking the power of food to enhance quality of life for everyone, today and for generations to come. To deliver on this, we serve with passion, with a spirit of excellence, offering products and services for all stages of life, every moment of the day, helping people care for themselves and their families. Our culture is based on our values rooted in respect: respect for ourselves, respect for others, respect for diversity and respect for the future.

We can trace our origin back to 1866, when the first European condensed milk factory was opened in Cham, Switzerland, by the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company. One year later, Henri Nestlé, a trained pharmacist, launched one of the world’s first prepared infant cereals ‘Farine lactée’ in Vevey, Switzerland.

Today, we employ around 273,000 people and have factories or operations in almost every country in the world. With our headquarters still based in the Swiss town of Vevey, we had sales of CHF 84.3 billion in 2020.

Our portfolio covers almost every food and beverage category – offering products and services for all stages of life, every moment of the day, helping people care for themselves and their families.
