As part of this we are looking for you to join Anglian Water's Graduate Programme and tackle some of the biggest environmental and infrastructure challenges facing the region. You'll have access to a wide range of development opportunities, support towards professional qualifications and funded membership of a relevant professional institution, helping you grow your expertise and achieve professional accreditation where appropriate.

Your programme

You will work within the Policy and Public Affairs teams as part of the Corporate Affairs directorate. Responsibilities will vary but are likely to include:

  • Policy and political research and insight. Monitoring and summarising parliamentary activity, government announcements and wider policy developments.
  • Drafting internal briefings and external engagement documents. For example, updates on political and policy announcements, responses to government and parliamentary consultations.
  • Stakeholder engagement support. Assisting with the preparation and follow‑up for meetings, for example by researching MPs’ interests, or drafting key messages.
  • Policy analysis and position development. Working with colleagues to develop company positions on emerging government policies, including developing the evidence base to understand the implications of different options.

What you will bring

We are looking for people who are curious, ambitious and ready to learn. Individuals who enjoy solving problems, working collaboratively and bringing different perspectives to the challenges we face. Most importantly, we're looking for graduates who want to help shape the future of water while developing a successful and rewarding career of their own. We welcome applicants who are excited about technology products and passionate about the water industry.

For this role, you’ll need to have obtained in the last 3 years or be studying towards a minimum 2:2 in any degree discipline and have graduated by September 2027 for the 2027 intake.

About Anglian Water Services

Anglian Water supply water and water recycling services to more than six million domestic and business customers in the east of England and Hartlepool. Our services are at the heart of every single family and community in our region. We clean water to the highest standard, deliver it to millions of homes, and carefully manage it to ensure it never runs out.

We’re the largest water and water recycling company in England and Wales by geographic area. We’re also one of the driest regions in the country, with just 600 millimetres of rain each year, on average a third less than the rest of England. In fact some areas have a lower annual rainfall than Jerusalem. That’s why it’s vital that we look after the water that we’ve got.
