ONroute Corporate Accountant

We are looking for a Corporate Accountant to join our team!

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Corporate Accountant is responsible for coordinating and maintaining general accounting functions. The successful candidate will possess a high level of accuracy and organization, providing financial information, analysis, and reporting to support operational effectiveness. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, systems, and internal controls.

Salary Band: $56,800 - $72,500 annually

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end reporting packages, financial statements, and related analyses.
• Perform bank account reconciliations, prepare and post journal entries, and work closely with the Accounts Payable team to monitor payables and reconcile vendor balances.
• Substantiate financial transactions through the review and audit of supporting documentation.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Verify, reconcile, and post intercompany transactions.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare regular external filings, including HST returns, and perform routine account analysis and bookkeeping activities.
• Produce accurate accounting reports and present results for management review.
• Maintain and strengthen accounting controls by recommending policies, procedures, and internal control improvements.
• Partner collaboratively with Operations and Procurement teams.
• Support the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.
• Assist with review and audit engagements.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Experience with financial consolidations is considered an asset.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.

Qualifications

• CPA designation (CPA, CA, CGA, or CMA) preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 3 years of related accounting experience in a similar role.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, mid-sized organization preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities through a structured and organized approach.
