We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Onsite Corporate Accountant to join our team.The Corporate Accountant performs duties related to the preparation of the Company’s financial data, including, but not limited to, posting journal entries, performing reconciliations of account balances, and preparing financial statements, reports, and other schedules on a timely basis. This position will also assist with the accounting for fixed assets and leases. The Accountant will also work closely with the Accounting Manager, Controller, and other team members to complete additional tasks as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, and other duties may be assigned:

  • Closing books for small companies, which provides general exposure to cash, A/R, accruals, debt, intercompany, income and expense and other broad aspects of accounting

  • Fixed asset accounting, including coordination with the dealership accounting team

  • Lease accounting

  • Investments accounting

  • Account reconciliation and journal entry preparation for cash, prepaids, investments, accruals and other accounts as needed

  • Departmental financial reporting

  • Assist with annual budget preparation

  • Backup for cash payment application entries

  • Business personal property tax filings

  • Assist with special projects such as system implementations

  • Maintains effective employee relations

  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area

  • Participates in required training

  • Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.

  • Complies with Company policies and procedures

  • Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Desired Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting

Desired Work Experience: Up to 2 years of accounting experience (Account reconciliation, bookkeeping, journal entry preparation, or related field preferred)

Technical Expertise: Basic understanding of US GAAP accounting principles and financial statements

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to interpret financial statements, financial reports and spreadsheets.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge and proficiency in MS Office, specifically MS Excel.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Communication Skills:

Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively in-person with company personnel, financial institution personnel, and external auditors.

Attendance Expectations:

The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Hours may include evening hours, weekends, and some holidays to meet required deadlines, particularly at year-end and other key times. Position is not remote due to essential functions of the role.

Physical & Environment Demands:

Lifting & Carrying: Occasionally lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 15 pounds, such as files, binders, etc.

Sitting & Posture: Sit for extended periods at a desk or workstation while performing core job functions, maintain sustained focus and attention to detail during long periods of screen-based work.

Standing & Movement: Face-to-face collaboration with staff, ability to move between workstations, conference rooms, and common areas throughout the workday.

Hand & Wrist Use: Continuously use hands and fingers to type, operate a computer mouse, and use a telephone or headset; perform highly repetitive hand and wrist motions associated with extended keyboard and computer use throughout the workday; occasional use of hands to sort, file, and organize physical documents and records.

Verbal and Writing Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to receive and communicate with management office personnel/vendors/teammates courteously, efficiently, and professionally. Must display professional phone and email etiquette.
