What will you do?

Below are some of the primary responsibilities you will be taking on in this role:

Maintaining the accounting records for various corporate business units:

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly general accounting responsibilities for corporate entities, including the preparation and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations and financial analysis
  • Prepare corporate bank account reconciliations

Supporting the team with quarter-end and year-end reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly reporting deliverables including consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS and the MD&A.
  • Assist with providing documentation for external auditors

Assisting the team with compliance requirements and special projects:

  • Assist in the preparation of legal entity financial statements for tax and debt compliance
  • Assist with ad hoc requests from other departments (e.g., Tax, Shared Services, etc.)
  • Supporting the Corporate Accounting team in leveraging AI and automation tools
  • Assist with various special projects and process improvement initiatives within the Corporate Accounting function

What skills and qualifications should you have?

  • University or college accounting program graduate
  • CPA designated or candidate for CPA designation
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience with general accounting or full-cycle month-end close process
  • Independent and self-motivated with a strong prioritization mindset committed to meeting deadlines and getting things done.
  • Strong attention to details
  • Superior interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Previous experience with JD Edwards is preferred
  • Previous experience with Wdesk or ReportsNow is an asset
  • Exposure to, or experience in, real estate is an asset

Dream is also an approved training office under the CPA Ontario Pre-Approved Program Route (PPR). We will provide anyone working towards their CPA designation the support and practical experience requirements to be successful in the program, and at Dream.

This is a regular, full-time position with a base salary range of $55,000-$75,000. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible for a performance-based bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes paid vacation and personal days, flexible benefits, mental health resources, access to perks and discounts, professional development support, and team-building and social events.

Compensation is determined based on several factors, including relevant experience, total years of experience, industry experience, education, and professional designations. We recognize that exceptional talent doesn’t always fit neatly into a bracket. Final compensation will be tailored to your specific experience, skills and the unique value you bring to the table. If your qualifications exceed the scope of this role, we may be open to adjusting the mandate – and the salary – to reflect that expertise.
