The CoreOps Payments cell is the operational and data backbone of SumUp's acquiring business in Latin America β responsible for reconciliation, cost visibility, and the data infrastructure that keeps payment operations running accurately every day. This role sits at the heart of that work: owning the models, pipelines, and automation that the whole cell depends on to make sound decisions. It's a high-ownership position with real scope β you'll be building and stabilising critical data infrastructure in a space where the work directly shapes how SumUp manages and optimises its own acquiring processes.
Own and maintain the data models and pipelines that support clearing-to-settlement reconciliation, processing cost visibility, and multi-acquiring analytics
Build and stabilise operational dashboards and alerts that feed day-to-day decisions across the Payments cell
Support accounting closures with reliable, automated data pipelines, reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy
Reduce operational data work through automation, alerting, and standardised processes as the team scales to new markets and acquirers
Act as a technical bridge across CoreOps cells and with global teams, sharing best practices and translating operational needs into data solutions
Hands-on experience building and maintaining data models and pipelines using SQL, dbt, or equivalent tools.
Strong ability to work with raw, complex financial or transactional data and turn it into reliable, operational outputs.
Familiarity with reconciliation processes or financial data workflows, with a detail-oriented approach that prioritises accuracy.
Comfort working in ambiguous environments, able to build structure and define processes where little currently exists.
Intermediate-to-advanced English proficiency, with the communication skills to work effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders in a multi-market environment.
