CORE Solution Design Manager Direct Tax (all genders)

The CORE (Customer Oriented Resilient Enterprise) program is a game changer for Bayer as we strive to become the best in class in the industry. It aims to develop and introduce an end-to-end (e2e) business, enabled by a state-of-the art and resilient technical backbone which enables Bayer to deliver a seamless experience for our customers, suppliers and employees.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP FICO Solution Design Manager with a specialized focus on Direct Taxes This position is an integral part of a global green-field implementation of SAP’s latest S/4 ERP solution. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP FICO tax solutions to support our organization’s complex tax compliance and reporting needs, with a strong emphasis on working within global project teams and developing or deploying global SAP template solutions. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tax processes align with both local and international regulations while driving operational efficiency and accuracy.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cooperate with Business Value Stream Leads to design, build, test and deploy Bayer’s future global business processes across all divisions
• Lead decision-making for functional and technical topics across multiple deployments while maintaining the CORE solution’s integrity and adherence to CORE guidelines (design decisions, data definitions, process definition documents, and configuration rationale documents)
• Collaborate with the on-site 3rd party IT Solution Integrator and with offshore/factory scrum teams to ensure change requests are implemented within guardrails with high quality
• Define RTD’s data model and integration methods with other CORE Value Streams to deploy the optimal end solution while designing resilient processes adaptable to business model and technology changes
• Lead the design and implementation of SAP FICO solutions with an emphasis on Direct (e.g., corporate income tax, withholding tax) within the framework of a global SAP S/4 ERP green-field rollout ensuring robust and compliant tax reporting processes
• Contribute to the creation, deployment, and maintenance of SAP template solutions to ensure consistency of tax processes across regions and the globe and analyze and interpret business requirements related to tax processes and translate them into effective SAP system solutions
• Work closely with tax, finance, and IT stakeholders to ensure tax processes and controls within SAP are robust, compliant, and up-to-date with changing laws and regulations
• Develop and maintain tax configuration, master data, and system documentation in SAP FICO while driving complex projects from design through deployment, including enhancements and integrations
• Conduct system testing and coordinate user acceptance testing focused on tax functionalities, providing subject matter expertise on SAP tax modules and integrations with external solutions
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within SAP tax processes, delivering training and support to end-users for effective adoption of tax solutions

WHO YOU ARE

• You hold a university degree in accounting, finance, tax or computer science (MBA preferred)
• You bring several years of hands-on experience in SAP FICO configuration, with a strong focus on Direct and Indirect Tax configuration and solution design
• You showcase proven expertise in SAP implementation and rollout projects, with demonstrated experience on global projects and development or deployment of SAP global template solutions, particularly with tax-relevant business processes
• You posses in-depth knowledge of international tax regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., VAT, GST, sales/use tax, corporate income tax)
• Experience working with external tax engines and integrations is an advantage
• You bring excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• You demonstrate leadership in managing projects, teams, and stakeholders within a global environment
• You have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Professional certification in SAP FICO or relevant tax disciplines is a plus
