RecoTek is Reconomy’s new centralized technology hub located in Bucharest, Romania, officially launched in February 2024. Serving as the backbone of Reconomy’s tech operations, it consolidates inhouse expertise across all Reconomy brands to accelerate platform development and enhance service delivery.

- Recycle loop is utilising the latest technology and data to enable customers to make the best possible use of their materials.
- Comply loop is enabling customers to solve increasingly complex environmental regulatory challenges using data, expert knowledge and thought leadership to drive business accountability across the globe.
- Re-use loop is providing intelligent technology platforms and agile delivery models for pre-retail logistics and product returns, fulfilment and processing, on behalf of many of Europe’s largest retailers.
About the role
Delivery & Implementation
- Implement features and bug fixes based on clear requirements
- Work within existing legacy systems safely and effectively
- Ensure work is:
- Complete
- Tested
- Ready for production
Working Across Legacy Systems
- Develop primarily in:
- NET Framework applications (MVC / WebForms)
- Understand and follow existing patterns and conventions
- Make incremental improvements where appropriate, without introducing risk
Exposure to Modern Practices
- Gain experience with:
- Modern .NET (where applicable)
- API-based development
- Cloud-aware design considerations
- Support ongoing evolution of the platform under guidance
Engineering Quality
- Follow established coding standards and practices
- Review existing solutions before implementing new ones to avoid duplication
- Write maintainable, readable code
Collaboration & Growth
- Participate in code reviews and team discussions
- Act on feedback to improve technical and problem-solving skills
- Build understanding of the wider system and business context
What we need from you
Core Requirements
- Experience with C# / .NET
- Experience working with ASP.NET (MVC or similar)
- Understanding of:
- Basic web application architecture
- REST APIs (basic level)
Nice to Have
- Exposure to:
- Legacy systems (WebForms, older frameworks)
- Azure or cloud concepts
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows
