Job Description

The Core Disability Product Analyst is a key contributor to the successful execution of product initiatives and ongoing operational activities within the Core DI product line. This role supports our products with a strong focus on client needs and distribution partner relationships, while ensuring that all technical systems and processes remain compliant and efficient. By blending technical expertise with exceptional customer service, the Product Analyst enhances operational accuracy, drives process improvements, and helps deliver an outstanding experience for clients, internal stakeholders, and distribution partners.

You Will

  • Support product ideation and innovation, development, and implementation into systems.
  • Assist in gathering and organizing distribution insights, competitive intelligence, and market research.
  • Maintain and update product documentation, internal and external competition materials, training materials, and sales enablement tools.
  • Support coordination of cross-functional meetings and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
  • Respond to inquiries related to Core DI Products via the call center phone queue and email, delivering exceptional customer service and timely resolution.
  • Author clear requirements and UAT plans, including acceptance criteria, test data, defect triage, and post‑deployment validation; ensure strong documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Develop reference guides and conduct virtual training sessions (Zoom) to support distribution in illustrations and product understanding.
  • Provide product illustrations and competitive analyses to distribution partners within established time standards.
  • Support product management efforts on our inforce block of business.
  • Assist in product filing efforts and forms management as requested.
  • Participate in additional projects and initiatives as assigned to support business objectives.
  • Leverage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor, evaluate, and drive success across projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and continuous improvement.

You have

  • Strong knowledge of IDI mechanics: own-occupation definitions, residual/partial benefits, benefit periods, elimination periods, COLA, exclusions/limitations, issue ages, occupational classes, premium modes, and policy provisions.
  • Strong knowledge of inforce policy mechanics: billing, premium modes, reinstatements, lapses, grace periods, offsets/coordination (e.g., SSDI, workers’ comp), benefit calculations, COLA, elimination periods, and waiver rules.
  • Familiarity with policy admin and underwriting systems, product configuration, and downstream dependencies (claims rules, correspondence).
  • Experience writing business requirements, partnering with Tech/QA for configuration and UAT, and validating production outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to influence decisions and present trade‑offs.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to learn business processes quickly and work independently.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.

Location

Hybrid- Onsite, with 3 days a week at Guardian in Pittsfield, MA

Salary Range:

$59,110.00 - $88,660.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
