Job Description

The Core Compliance – Associate role is part of the JPMSE Core Compliance team of the 2nd Line of Defence (2LoD). The role is based in Paris and works closely with JPMSE Core Compliance team in Frankfurt and other EMEA Compliance teams to support regional and global compliance initiatives and programs. The role will support the implementation of the Core Compliance agenda within J.P. Morgan SE (JPMSE) including its branches located in other European jurisdictions. The individual will engage with various JPMSE stakeholders from Business and Control Functions and at EMEA and potentially global level to promote consistency of processes and provide clarity on European regulatory requirements.

As a JPMSE Core Compliance Associate in JPMSE Core Compliance, you will support the implementation, oversight, and coordination of the compliance agenda in JPMSE and its branches, with a focus on specific regulatory required processes and tasks such as:

Job responsibilities:

  • Preparing governance and oversight reports to LE governance fora and regulators

  • Supporting the development and implementation of Management Information System (MIS) for a comprehensive senior management and board report.

  • Assisting in the review of regulations, conducting of gap analysis and work with divisional and regional partners to develop policies and procedures within the legal entity.

  • Supporting the coordination and drafting of the annual Compliance Reports for JPMSE.

  • Updating policies, procedures, and the local Compliance Manual when necessary

  • Support coordination the JPMSE Compliance Policy Approval Process

  • Supporting the implementation and oversight of the JPMSE Training plan, including administration (setup and updates) of JPMSE Compliance training across HQ and branches

  • Assisting in the execution of the JPMSE Compliance Outsourcing oversight governance model in relation to Compliance outsourced activities.

  • Assisting in the execution of the JPMSE Compliance Monitoring & Testing governance and oversight model

  • Supporting JPMSE Compliance in the execution of the JPMSE Legal Entity Risk Assessment and Qualitative Risk Appetite Assessment

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

The role requires an enquiring mind, good analytic skills, very good written and verbal communication skills.

You will be a successful candidate if you demonstrate the ability to write clearly and succinctly and to summarize complex matters precisely. You need to be able to work cross-functionally and confidently with colleagues and employees both in-country and abroad as wells as at all levels of the organization.

  • A minimum of three years’ relevant Compliance experience or other related experience (such as legal, audit or risk).

  • Strong academic background or work achievements in the financial industry

  • Self-motivation and proactiveness as well as excellent attention to details

  • Good knowledge of EU final regulatory framework

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Fluency in English both written and spoken is essential

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Broad-based IT skills and experience

  • Excellent time management skills
