You’ll lead the copy function end to end. This includes defining the brand voice, maintaining consistency across channels, and ensuring every piece of communication reflects a strong and distinct point of view.

You’ll oversee copy across landing pages, campaigns, ads, lifecycle communication, social media, in-product messaging, scripts, long-form content, and key internal communications. You’ll also guide in-house and freelance writers while partnering closely with design, marketing, product, and leadership teams.

A key part of the role involves shaping the brand’s perspective on developments in technology, including AI, developer tools, framework launches, and shifts in how engineers work, and turning those insights into compelling content that contributes meaningfully to industry conversations.

• Define and document the brand voice, including tonality, personality, and communication principles
• Write and lead high-impact content including major campaigns, brand films, flagship landing pages, and founder-led thought leadership
• Review, edit, and elevate the quality of copy across teams and channels
• Shape the editorial direction around trends in technology and engineering culture across LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and other channels
• Partner closely with brand, marketing, design, and product stakeholders
• Define how AI should be used within the writing process, including where it adds value, where it does not, and how outputs should be evaluated and refined
• Build strong editorial standards around AI-assisted writing while maintaining authenticity and human insight
• Uphold a sharp and differentiated writing style by avoiding clichés, generic marketing language, and overused phrases

Job Requirements/Mandatory Skills

• You have a strong portfolio demonstrating range across brand, performance, technical, narrative, short-form, and long-form writing
• You’ve led a copy function before, or have operated as a senior writer ready to take ownership of one
• You actively follow and engage with technology trends, tools, and industry developments
• You can simplify complex technical topics such as system design, machine learning, distributed systems, and developer tooling into engaging and accurate content
• You’re a strong editor who can improve and elevate the work of others
• You can identify AI-generated copy and refine it into polished, human-sounding communication
• You understand when AI is useful in the creative process and when human thinking is more valuable
• You write with clarity and precision, delivering concise copy that communicates effectively

Preferred traits

• A background in Computer Science or experience working with developer-focused or technology-led brands
• Experience building voice guidelines, editorial systems, or copy review frameworks from scratch

What We’re Not Looking For:

• Writers who apply the same tone and approach to every brand
• Copy that relies on memes or trends without a clear point of view
• Leaders who only review work and do not contribute hands-on writing
• Extreme positions on AI, either completely dismissive or overly dependent on it. The final output should always feel thoughtful, credible, and human-written.
