About the Department

The Global Digital Team is primarily responsible for SMP’s direct digital licensing activities with a focus on multi-territory (Global & Multi-territory) & US direct deals. The team also provides strategic and commercial assistance and guidance in connection with national digital licenses that are not directly negotiated by the Global Digital Team or licenses that are subject to local or regional industry or collective solutions.

About the Role

The Coordinator, US Digital supports the optimization of SMP's music publishing assets across digital platforms. This role ensures accurate claiming of SMP compositions, helps to resolve conflicts, surfaces infringements, conducts market share research and contributes to initiatives that strengthen SMP's digital licensing processes. The successful candidate will work as an integrated part of the US Digital Team and will support the team's licensing, enforcement, and rights management activities.

What You’ll Do: ( job responsibilities)

Managing Digital Rights Operations

Manage SMP's rights operations, including making asset claims within various rights management systems and being a point-of-contact with external rights management vendors. Maintain organized records and a clear internal knowledge base for the team.

Cooridnating Conflict Resolution and Data Quality Initiatives

Coordinate projects related to the resolution of conflicts, claim disputes and internal and external data quality initiatives. Support the identification and prioritization of potential targets for enforcement. Execute takedown requests across digital platforms.

Supporting Licensing and Enforcment Actions

Provide organizational support to the digital licensing team. Support SMP's legal team with context, analysis and insights in connection with digital music related enforcement action.

Who You Are:

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level (4-year college degree required

  • 1-2+ years' relevant work experience

  • Exposure to the music, content, or media industry a strong plus

  • Understanding of the music publishing industry a strong plus

Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Digital content management systems experience (e.g., YouTube, Meta)

  • Familiarity with online platforms including YouTube, Meta platforms and AI platforms

  • Strong oral and written communications skills - ability to communicate analysis, findings and proposed actions effectively to colleagues and business partners

  • Organization skills - ability to independently manage day-to-day tasks and strategic initiatives

DISCLAIMER:

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is:

$52,780.00-$75,400.00

This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
