Coordinator, Transportation Execution Position Description
PURPOSE STATEMENT: The role of Specialist, Transportation Execution will be a vital part of a global team responsible for ensuring smooth and timely logistics support of all Corning shipments. This role covers all modes of transportation for all Corning divisions, providing global coverage. This role will provide management and support of all transportation related activities, with a primary function of completing real-time data entry of ocean and air shipment milestones for accurate tracking. This role will contribute to logistics operational excellence, mitigate impacts from supply chain disruptions, and drive adherence to Corning logistics policies.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Transportation Execution:
o Book, confirm, and schedule shipments with Corning logistics providers o Daily data entry of milestones and updates for all Corning global ocean and air shipments
o Provide track and trace support or escalation support across all modes of transportation: ocean, air, truck, parcel, rail o Manage daily Hot List of critical shipments; communicate updates to key stakeholders o Input and manage key transportation transactional data in ERP system (ex: transit times, order close outs, etc.) o Ensure logistics procedures are being followed throughout the shipment process
o Participate and/or host daily/weekly/monthly operational review meetings o Submit air freight approvals (PTAs) • Exception Management:
o Drive Routing Guide compliance through proactive engagement and audits o Submit and management carrier spot quotes as needed
o Manage weekly and monthly freight payment exception management
• Ad hoc: o Ownership of site-specific or division-specific logistics management (ex: reel returns) o Support Trade Compliance processes (ex: documentation handoff) o Host site-specific logistics training
Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, logistics, supply chain management, data analytics, or relevant field of study 1-3 years logistics experience preferred Required Skills Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Communication skills for working with stakeholders, across functions, countries and cultures, both internally and externally Ability to work independently and in a team environment Demonstrates time management and prioritization skills
