JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Scholarships, the Scholarships Coordinator works closely with students, parents, colleagues, and outside partners to coordinate scholarship-related activities at Midland College, such as processing scholarships, communicating with students, and organizing student activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serves as the first point of contact for scholarship inquiries. Provides general information and refers complex questions to the Scholarships Advisor or Director
- Receives and processes scholarship documents from students, reviews for completeness, routes files for review, and tracks missing items and deadlines
- Assists students with scholarship searches and application navigation; refers to Scholarships Adviser as needed
- Supports scholarship awarding and renewal processes by updating student records, tracking eligibility checkpoints, and generating routine notifications
-  Maintains accurate scholarship records, including data entry, scanning/indexing, status updates, and documentation retention
-  Assists with scholarship disbursements and researching routine discrepancies
- Supports donor stewardship by producing thank-you letters, tracking receipt status, and assisting with event logistics
- Tracks student volunteer/service requirements tied to scholarship awards; maintains logs and communicates deadlines; reports noncompliance concerns to supervisor
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
•    Associate's Degree or equivalent (60+ college credit hours)
•    Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse student populations
•    Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
•    Proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast­ paced environment
•    Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel, and able to learn additional systems such as the student information system, Smartsheet, and others
•    Ability to work collaboratively with shifting priorities
•    Professional communication with students, families, and donors
•    Critical thinking skills and ability to handle confidential information
•    Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License, a good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College's insurance policy
Preferred

Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree or equivalent (120 college credit hours)
•    Two years of relevant experience, such as customer service, education, or finances/accounting
•    Experience working in higher education or with a financial team
•    Working knowledge of budgets, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Typical office
- Business Hours
- - M-Th 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. F 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- - summer M-Th 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 pm
- Periodic evening and weekend hours during peak periods (e.g., open enrollment, payroll)
- Occasional travel (less than 10%)
Physical Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- This position may require occasional travel for training, meetings, and events both in and out of town
- Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 20 pounds
- Availability on some evenings and weekends for student/parent presentations, special student activities, and Midland College events
Salary Range: $41,811 - $42,438
