Sales Execution deals directly with customers aiming to develop, secure and maintain the most profitable business for Hapag-Lloyd in accordance with the company’s objectives. The purpose of Sales Execution is to produce optimum contributions for Hapag-Lloyd by maintaining and enhancing Hapag-Lloyd’s customer’s base through offering products that satisfy customers’ needs including our newest Inland and Logistics solutions. Sales Execution interface with Sales Steering, Sales Support, Customer Service, Operations, Inland and Finance. Key challenges and satisfaction come from understanding the customers’ needs and wants, fulfilling customer requests, and meeting budget.

• Managing and growing own portfolio of customers and opportunities;
• Responsible for growing portfolio of Key accounts;
• Covering MR and Geo-From customers (Push-Pull) as defined in Area Sales Steering concept and Developing budget within designated territory;
• Focusing on medium and large accounts as well as developing existing customers; servicing and maintaining all accounts within assigned territory;
• Directly dealing with customers in face-to-face appointment to develop, secure and maintain most profitable business;
• Conducting MR planning and review account performance as defined in Area Sales Process;
• Conducting account planning and derive an account strategy including an action plan to develop customers / opportunities;
• Coordinating the participation in tender requests from own customers and handling customer tender feedback;
• Participating in weekly coaching sessions with Country Manager to review past sales activities and align activities for the Future;
• Approaching customer through specified Sales channels (e.g., reefer, import);
• Coordinating credit applications in coordination with Sales Management and Finance;
• Supply feedback about market information;
• Ensure proper handover to sales coordination and work close and as a team with sales coordination;
• Preparing visit plans and visit reports and insert in CRM;
• Promote inland transportation solutions, including Terminal-to-plant delivery, Door-to-door transportation, Customs clearance and delivery solutions, ICD-based import transportation, Export empty positioning and triangulation, Depot, warehouse and distribution solutions;
• Identify and develop inland sales opportunities across key Cameroonian corridors;
• Develop new customers leads and strengthens relationships with existing customers. Monitor customers’ performance;
• Support preparation of commercial proposals, tenders and RFQ submissions;
• Develop knowledge of key inland corridors in Cameroon, including Douala metropolitan areas, Yaoundé, Kribi and other strategic locations.

Education: University Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Marketing or related discipline.

Experience: 03 - 05 years

Specific Experience: Experience with tenders, RFQs, commercial proposals and rate negotiations.

Technical Knowledge:

• Sales mentality / proactive / negotiating and closing skills
• Ability to work in a team

• E-commerce aptitude
• Knowledge of user application systems (MS Office, Scout, Compass, FIS, SAM)
• Fluency in French, good command of spoken and written English
• Self-motivated to drive result and being organized
• Experience in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, inland transportation or supply chain solutions.
• Good knowledge of Cameroonian ports, terminals, ICDs, depots and inland transport corridors.
• Understanding customs clearance, container handling and empty-container processes is an advantage.
