Job Description

Sales Execution deals directly with customers aiming to develop, secure and maintain the most profitable business for Hapag-Lloyd in accordance with the company’s objectives. The purpose of Sales Execution is to produce optimum contributions for Hapag-Lloyd by maintaining and enhancing Hapag-Lloyd’s customer base through offering products that satisfy customers’ needs. Sales Execution interface with Sales Steering, Sales Support, Customer Service, Operations and Finance. Key challenges and satisfaction come from understanding the customers’ needs and wants, fulfilling customer requests, and meeting budget.

  • Managing and growing our own portfolio of customers and opportunities
  • Covering MR and Geo-From customers (Push-Pull) as defined in Area Sales Steering concept and Developing budget within designated territory
  • Focusing on medium and large accounts as well as developing existing customers; servicing and maintaining all accounts within assigned territory
  • Directly dealing with customers in face-to-face appointments to develop, secure and maintain most profitable business
  • Conducting MR planning and review account performance as defined in Area Sales Process
  • Conducting account planning and derive an account strategy including an action plan to develop customers / opportunities
  • Coordinating the participation in tender requests from own customers and handling customer tender feedback
  • Participating in weekly coaching sessions with the Country Manager to review past sales activities and align activities for the future
  • Approaching customer through specified Sales channels (e.g., reefer, import)
  • Coordinating credit applications in coordination with Sales Management and Finance
  • Supply feedback about market information
  • Ensure proper handover to sales coordination and work close and as a team with sales coordination
  • Preparing visit plans and visit reports and insert in CRM
  • Sales mentality / proactive / negotiating and closing skills
  • Ability to work in a team

  • E-commerce aptitude
  • Knowledge of user application systems (MS Office, Scout, Compass, FIS, SAM)
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Self-motivated to drive result and being organized
