The Coordinator,Registration Qualityis responsible forperforming quality assurance audits of registration data and for coordinating the activities of the registrationcaregiverswithin the Emergency Department and Outpatient areas In this role, you will work within Akron General as well asfloatto other sites such as Stow, Green and Bath Health and Wellness Centers and Lodi, as needed.TheCoordinatorrole is key to both the patient experience and the revenue cycle. Failure to train consistently,to monitornewcaregiversandto performQA can result in delay in patient flow, delay in the revenue cycle/billingprocessanda poorpatient experience.This opportunity will help you advance your skills each day and can lead to growth in other roles withinClevelandClinic.

A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from8:00AM – 4:30PM, with on-call requirements.

Travel betweenStow, Bath,Greenand Lodi will berequiredas needed.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Audit productivity andperformquality review of registration data.

  • Provide training andweekly reportsregardingproductivity and quality tosupervisor

  • Coordinate the activities of registration staff for assignedareaof responsibility.

  • Assign duties to staff based on thepatientvolume peaks and departmental needs.

  • Perform rounding,listenand view staff interaction with patients,visitorsand other employees to ensure compliance with customer service standards and inform supervisor of findings.

  • Coach staff as necessarybased on established policies and procedures including registration, verification systems, payerrequirementsand patient rights and provide specialized training when needs arise.

  • Develop collaborative working relationships with medical staff and other staff members to ensure efficient andtimelypatient flow and with patient financial services to ensureaccurateandtimelybilling.

  • Monitor andassiststaff as needed with point of service collection process for assigned area (e.g.admissions, ambulatory test/procedures, ED) as it relates to assigned area to includemonitoringthe application of payments and cash control procedures.

  • Assistwithsystem set-up and testing for applications related to Patient Scheduling and Registrations area to include setting up tables and users in new and existing applications.

  • Monitor andassistfinancial counseling process to advise andassistuninsured and under-insured patients at the point of service to include interviewing todetermineeligibility for HCAP and CARE programs that provide free or discounted care.

  • Assistwith staffing coverage and takecall

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Twoyears of experienceworking in a health care setting

  • Knowledge of registration and/or revenue cycle systems and procedures

  • Proficient in the use of computer software applications (e.g.Word/Excel)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Associate’s Degree

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.
  • In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
  • In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.
