WWF-India, one of the largest conservation organizations, engaged in wildlife and nature conservation in the country, is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to be a part of its Rivers & Wetlands team. WWF-India’s Rivers & Wetlands programme is looking for a colleague to undertake programme coordination, programme development and monitoring & evaluation.
This position will be a part of a highly experienced team undertaking pioneering and exciting work and offering unique learning opportunities. You will be part of a team working towards protecting and conserving iconic and charismatic species that live in our rivers—the Ganga river dolphins, gharials, otters, turtles—to name a few.
Together with various State Governments, local stakeholders, businesses and technical institutions, the Rivers & Wetlands team of WWF India is engaged in rejuvenation of over 700 kilometres of rivers and thousands of hectares of wetlands (small and big) across the country. This include include– rivers like the Ganga, Ramganga, Yamuna, Chambal, Beas, Brahmaputra, Noyyal, Bhavani, Arkavathy and wetlands of national and international importance (Keoladeo National Park, Harike, Upper Ganga). You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of hydrologists, water resources and river basin specialists, ecologists, aquatic biodiversity experts and social scientists and governance experts. This team works across multiple levels, from grass-root to district-level, state-level and central level; and from on-ground implementation to policy engagement.

We, at WWF, believe that humans can live in harmony with nature. In India, we’re studying snow leopards in the Himalayas, tracking tigers in the Terai and Kanha Pench corridor, working with businesses to develop green modules and with communities to find ways to reduce their dependence on forests, among many other projects. There’s a lot more that we do – and we need people with heart to help us do it.
