Under guidance of the Laboratory Manager and Medical Director, applies practical and theoretical knowledge of point of care technology as it applies to point of care testing activities. Responsible for planning, design, implementation, documentation, maintenance and support of the Point of Care Testing (POCT) systems throughout the HVPS sites. These tasks are performed through testing analysis skills and tools and regulatory standards and good lab practice. Requires strong analytical, organizational, communication and creativity skills in providing the necessary support.

Qualifications

  • AS Required
  • 4 years of relevant experience in clinical laboratory. Strong communication and problem-solving skills required; prior training experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English. (High proficiency)
  • NYSDOH licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Medical Technologist) preferred. ASCP or other point of care certification preferred. Valid NYS drivers license and proof of auto insurance required.
