Caregivers in this role will be responsible for the general oversight of the Nursing Operations Manager (NOM) work group. You will serve as Administration on-site and responsible agent during off hours which includes caregiver selection, performance management, process improvement, scheduling, facilitating orientation and general dissemination of information to the group. This is a rewarding opportunity that offers growth-oriented projects, mentorship, support, and resources. A caregiver in this position days from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. including weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Serve as administration on-site and the responsible agent for circumstances requiring immediate response, resolution, or referral such as crisis intervention, chemically impaired caregivers, fire and other emergency evacuation, caregiver, patient, family concerns and disputes, radiation safety, infection control, and disaster policies and procedures.
  • Act as a role model and mentor to caregivers.
  • Develop an internal succession plan.
  • Identify opportunities for process change within the NOM group and throughout patient care floors.
  • Implement process changes based on scope of responsibility to improve operational outcomes as appropriate.
  • Work with ACNO to determine appropriate staffing levels to provide consistent coverage of NOM group.
  • Facilitate the caregiver selection and orientation process in accordance with organizational and division standards.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Five years of clinical nursing experience in an acute organization.
  • Three years of progressive nursing management experience in a large healthcare facility
  • Two years of personnel management

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Master’s degree in nursing (MSN)
  • Critical Care experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
