About this job:

As an integral member of the School Medicaid Team, the Medicaid Coordinator supports the program in a variety of capacities, the Medicaid Coordinator provides supporting leadership to the ESS department. Represents the ESS department and district internally and externally. Work closely with the department supervisor in strategizing to maximize revenue and provide maximum resources and impact for kids and families.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead training sessions for District staff related to the School Health Services (Medicaid) Program.
    • Training content will focus on program overview, documentation, compliance, best practices, and other program requirements.
    • Training session format and venue will vary and could consist of large groups, small groups, and 1:1 meetings. Sessions will be both in person and virtual.
  • Develop and maintain State of CO Random Moment Time Study (RMTS) roster in conjunction with supervisor
  • This function is a key driver of the District’s Medicaid reimbursement
  • Works with HR Specialist and Accounting to obtain files of providers; reviews files using vLookup
  • Monitor Medicaid allowable health licensure documentation and ensure accurate alignment with State claims processing and with state cost reporting processes
  • Strategize with supervisor to improve State of CO Time Study survey compliance and response quality
  • Coordinate with CDE, CO Department of Health Care Policy and Finance (HCPF), and the State’s contractor, Public Consulting Group (PCG) in submitting and updating school district data
  • Ensure response compliance and documentation to state audits, financial reviews, and desk reviews
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need:
  • High School diploma is required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or Associate’s degree is preferred
  • 2+ of relevant experience is required
  • Current Colorado Driver’s license and meeting district insurability requirements is required
  • The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance is required
  • Effective communication skills is required
  • Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines is required
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • High degree of integrity in handling confidential information is required
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with district and school leaders, faculty, staff and students is required
  • Work collaboratively with others on a team is required
  • Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and fast-paced environment is preferred
  • Problem solving and critical thinking demonstrated through established projects and experience is preferred
  • Collaborate within internal team and organization, and with multiple external community and government agencies is preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, including vLookup and Pivot Table functions. General working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State public assistance programs, including: Medicaid, CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Plan), SNAP Food Assistance, TANF (Temporary Aid to Needy Families), etc. is preferred
  • Ability to represent and communicate DPS Medicaid Department’s services and programs to positively influence external organizations on policy is preferred
  • Effective trainer and presenter to multiple and diverse audiences is preferred
  • Provide leadership and guidance to other team members, in conjunction with the department supervisor
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
