Enabling families to stay close to their hospitalized child supports the health and well-being of the child and saves families more than $10 million in hotel and food costs each year. We also operate the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile® program, providing medical care to children in underserved areas. Ronald McDonald House Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana is an independent not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
The Coordinator, McDonald’s Engagement assists in the partner relations efforts with McDonald’s restaurants across Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, their partners, and employees. This position assists and is involved in all aspects of McDonald’s facilitated giving efforts, including Round-Up for Ronald McDonald House, the Donation Box program, and any special in-store promotions.
Essential Job Functions
- Works in partnership with the Associate Director to build relationships with store personnel at 462 restaurants in the MOCNI (McDonald’s Owner-Operators of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana) co-op, in support of in-store donation programs that support Ronald McDonald House Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana.
- Makes daily visits to McDonald’s stores to steward McDonald’s partners.
- Assists the Associate Director as needed to support the annual planning, budgeting, tracking and recognition programs for store personnel and owner/operators.
- Assists in efforts to identify and execute Ronald McDonald House Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana engagement opportunities for MOCNI and their partners.
- Identifies and communicates McDonald’s employee stories that are relevant to the Ronald McDonald House Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana/MOCNI partnership.
- Works in partnership with the third-party consultant who manages the donation box program.
- Interacts and collaborates with donors, staff and volunteers to provide support and assistance in the fulfillment of department goals and objectives.
- Assists with volunteer activities and House specific events for the development team as needed.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 3-5 years of sales and/or customer service experience required.
- Spanish language skills are a plus
- Must possess excellent organizational, time management, planning, and communication skills. Must be able to work independently and be self-driven.
- Must possess the ability to be efficient and maximize time for visiting restaurants.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and work collaboratively with staff and all McDonald’s partners and other supporters.
- Ability to be in a vehicle for long stretches of time to visit McDonald’s stores in both urban and rural areas, as well as getting in and out of the car multiple times a day.
- Must possess reliable means of transportation for frequent travel in/around Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.
- High level of initiative, self-motivated, and driven to produce results.
- Solid understanding of the principles of database management and proficiency with all MS Office products.
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license.

- Ability to travel throughout Chicagoland area on a regular basis is required.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.
