Coordinator Literacy Intervention Secondary-(26000130)
The Coordinator Literacy Intervention Secondary will be responsible for the overall development, management,
and implementation of research-based interventions and enrichment, district and campus based MTSS and
intervention programming and procedures, data analysis, and professional development. The incumbent will
provide strong leadership in the area of literacy intervention and enrichment supports to promote the District's
vision for Teaching and Learning. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Curriculum Development
- Lead the design and development of research-based interventions and enrichment to support the written curriculum
- Assist school and district administrators in the implementation of intervention programming
- Collaborate with curriculum team members to create and revise curriculum, assessment, intervention and enrichment documents
- Support the District’s teaching and learning philosophy by modeling the use of intervention and enrichment activities to support the success of all students
Instructional Leadership- Lead the development, design, and delivery of the District’s MTSS framework, and build capacity for campuses to implement MTSS processes to support all students
- Evaluate the implementation of the curriculum using multiple data points including instructional walkthroughs, student achievement data, assessments, and stakeholder feedback
- Facilitate the use of data to determine research-based intervention needs and make informed instructional and programmatic decisions that effectively address curricular needs
- Design, coordinate, and conduct professional learning and presentations for teachers, district personnel, parents and other stakeholders aligned to best practices for instruction and adult learning
- Attend regional, state, and national conferences and serve on committees to advance best practices in intervention enrichment, and RtI program supports
- Serve as a member of the campus support team to engage in instructional walkthroughs and facilitate campus support structures in collaboration with the campus principal and district leaders
Administrative & Program Management- Monitor and maintain student achievement data, including data from RtI screeners, and provide regular updates to applicable stakeholders
- Develop and implement systems to monitor district-defined Tier 3 intervention systems to ensure fidelity of implementation
- Develop and/or update required district documents including District MTSS guidance
- Coordinate and support the selection and purchase of instructional materials, professional development, and services that support secondary intervention systems
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and policies
- Provide leadership and direction to district and campus based instructional personnel to support the implementation and use of Tier 3 intervention systems
Supervisory Responsibilities- Assist in the process of recruiting, screening, interviewing, and hiring of assigned staff
- Initiate personnel actions including documentation and termination under the guidance of Human Resources
- Conduct performance appraisals of assigned staff
- Address complaints and resolve problems in a timely manner

- Valid Teaching Certification Issued by Texas Education Agency appropriate to subject and grade level of assignment
- Valid Texas Mid-Management or Principal Certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a classroom teacher in ELA
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in instructional leadership at the campus or district level
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in facilitating and implementing MTSS programming
- Demonstrated knowledge in planning and implementation of research-based intervention and enrichment supports
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices related to the implementation of district initiatives
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both orally and in writing

Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.
Additional Information- This position requires travel to various campuses, district meeting sites and to conferences/meetings in and out of state. This position may require the employee to work some evenings and weekends.
