Position Purpose:

Will provide functional supervision of Image and Results Center (IRC) staffOrganizes and prioritizes dailyactivities and assigns duties to subordinate staffMonitors daily tasks for efficiency and effectiveness, recommendsschedulerevisions as needed.IRCCoordinatorfacilitatesthescheduling ofnew employee orientation, employeetrainingand continuing educationPositionis empowered by the Manager to coordinate the functional activities of the office staffIn collaboration with theManagerinterviews, hires, orients, and provides performance feedback to the team.

Status Available: Full-time, 40 hours/week

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experienceAdditionalformal clerical and computer trainingdesirable

Experience:

  • Threetofiveyears progressively more responsible experience in a physician support setting.Two years' experience ina RadiologyDepartment.
  • Working knowledge of Radiologyproceduresprotocols and processes.
  • Knowledge of Windows based programs.

Physical and Mental Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Problem solving skills and abilityinitiatecreative solutions to problems.
  • Effectively communicate with medical staff, departmental staff, physicians, other healthprovidersand facilities.

What you will do:

  • Provides functional supervision to IRC staff.
  • Serves as a resource to other IRC staff, physicians and management team on technical matters related to the processing and documentation of film/report management.
  • Orients and trains new IRC staff.
  • Acts as liaison between Radiology department leadership staff and other departments as related to work processes.
  • Demonstrateshands-on knowledge of procedures and processes unique to department;demonstratesability to readilyacquirenew knowledge.
  • Assists in the performance evaluation of IRC staff.
  • Completes department staffing schedules in a manner consistent with established policies
  • Evaluates work processes;identifiesand makes recommendations for improvements; measures changes and assesses impact andvalidatesadherence.
  • Identifiesand focuses on new opportunities which will improve workflow within the team and the department. Spends time weekly in the IRC work areas tomaintaincompetency in daily activities and understand the daily challenges of the team
  • Activelyparticipatesin business decisions related to the Radiology Image and Results Center; recommends andassiststeam with solutions and approaches.
  • Activelyparticipateswith system implementation including procedural documentation, process and system enhancement and testing procedures.
  • Providesappropriate levelof direction and coaching to IRC staff.
