Job Summary

The Coordinator II, Printing Services coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Image Center, ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality print production services that meet organizational and customer needs. The role manages print production workflows, coordinates project schedules and resources, maintains production equipment and supplies, and monitors quality standards throughout the production process. Working closely with customers, vendors, and internal partners, the Coordinator II ensures efficient service delivery, operational continuity, and consistent production outcomes while contributing to improvements in processes, systems, and customer experience.

Roles and Key Responsibilities

Print Job Creation and Delivery

  • Coordinate the planning, scheduling, and execution of print production requests, ensuring projects are prioritized appropriately and completed on time, within quality standards, and according to customer requirements.
  • Manage print production workflows from project intake through final delivery, maintaining accurate project records and supporting effective communication among customers, creative teams, vendors, and production staff.
  • Support the production of a wide range of printed materials by applying expertise in digital printing technologies, production processes, and finishing methods to achieve high-quality outcomes.
  • Ensure print jobs meet established quality standards through review of production specifications, proofs, and final outputs, resolving issues proactively to maintain customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate the preparation, packaging, and distribution of completed print materials to ensure accurate and timely delivery.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Maintain print production equipment and related systems in operational readiness through routine maintenance, troubleshooting, coordination of service support, and adherence to established operating procedures.
  • Monitor and manage production resources, including paper, supplies, and equipment needs, to support uninterrupted operations and efficient service delivery.
  • Maintain appropriate records related to equipment maintenance, service activities, inventory, and operational expenses to support accountability and business continuity.

Operational Support and Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the efficient operation of the Image Center by supporting production priorities, responding to changing workload demands, and assisting with special projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production workflows, service delivery, and quality assurance processes to enhance operational effectiveness and customer experience.
  • Stay informed of developments in print production technologies, systems, and industry best practices to support continuous improvement and organizational needs.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of print production processes, digital printing technologies, finishing methods, and quality assurance standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, establish priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong understanding of production workflows, job tracking systems, scheduling methods, and operational procedures.
  • Proficiency with print production software and digital workflow tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud, Acrobat Pro, Fiery Command WorkStation, and related production applications.
  • Ability to evaluate production requirements, identify potential issues, and implement effective solutions to maintain quality and service standards
  • Strong technical aptitude for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting digital print and finishing equipment.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions and recommend process improvements.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain production requirements and provide guidance to customers and colleagues.  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate production, inventory, and operational records.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workload demands while maintaining quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate degree in relevant field or equivalent on the job experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in printing or related activities.
  • Minimum of 5years experience operating a 4-color digital printing press.
  • High degree of mechanical ability.
  • Digital press experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
  • Adobe InDesign experience.
  • Experience with the Canon imagePRESS v1000, HP 68900 DesignJet Color Ink-Jet Printer, or DUPLO cutter/folders.
