Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator I, Student Financial Aid. - Boca Raton, FL.

The Coordinator I, Student Financial Aid position supports the Office of Student Financial Aid’s mission of offering a comprehensive financial aid program that attempts to meet the financial needs of all University students.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Analyses and evaluates financial aid information of assigned student population and determines eligibility for financial aid awards to students.
• Processes revisions, professional judgments, and appeals for assigned students according to the alpha division.
• Assists with front desk staffing during peak time, or as needed.
• Reviews and processes weekly financial aid reports, such as negative need and over-budget reports.
• Performs an initial review in OnBase of student verification documents, determines additional documents required, and requests the necessary forms and documents. Reviews tax forms and other submitted documents and makes changes in compliance with federal regulations and university policies.
• Advises students and families at the front desk, via phones, and Ivy Chat, regarding the processing of their financial aid application, assists with completion of forms, eligibility requirements, and documentation necessary to comply with federal, State and institutional regulations as well as policies and procedures.
• Assists with outbound campaign calls.
• Assists with FAFSA filing workshops.
• Assists with the Financial Wellness Program, including outreach and presentations to students.
• Assists with processing Florida Atlantic Cares applications.
• Provides ongoing support and guidance to Helios Program recipients as they navigate their academic journey and work toward degree completion.
• Collaborates closely with the First-Generation Student Success Office to provide support, resources, and guidance to students who indicate a need for assistance.
• Works with the Dean of Students staff to administer the Gerstner Grant and all other need-based aid programs for students.
• Works with the Dean of Students staff to identify and assist Homeless/Foster Youth and Homeless students for aid and Federal Work-study opportunities.
• Serves on committees and working groups with the Dean of Students office to provide programming and assistance as part of their Care-Based model of student support.
• Collaborates with campus partners to support outreach, intervention, and other initiatives designed to promote student persistence, retention, and graduation.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

Salary:

$62,000 - $64,272 Annually.
