We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to play a critical role in supporting See’s Candies’ high-volume, fast-moving HR operations at our Carson, CA facility, ensuring smooth operations during the peak period (August-January). This position partners closely with the HR team to execute essential people processes while delivering dependable, solutions-oriented support to employees and leaders.

Success in this position requires a strong foundation in customer service within an organizational setting—someone who listens well, communicates with clarity and empathy, and consistently models HR best practices. The HR Coordinator must take pride in accuracy, follow-through, and safeguarding sensitive information, while also demonstrating the flexibility necessary to support a broad range of tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

The pay range for this position is expected to be $23.55-$32.54 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Workdayto processHR transactions,maintainemployee data, andgeneratereports while ensuring accuracy and integrity.

  • Coordinate high-volume recruitment activities includingresearching and supportingjobfairs, jobpostings, interview scheduling, andconsistentcandidate communicationthrough the recruitment-to-hire cycle

  • Manage onboarding workflowsinWorkday and support a smooth new hire experiencewith weekly orientation implementation; conduct new hire orientation sessions to ensure employees understand Company policies, procedures, and expectations.

  • Manageoffboarding workflows in Workdayandsupport a smooth layoff experience, perform “stay interviews” to garner feedbackto improve hiring and retention.

  • Support Payroll processing and timekeeping accuracy byassistingwith timesheet reviews, corrections, and employee inquiries related to hours worked and pay. Ensuring pay is correct andis alignedwith policies and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) frameworks.

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employeeconcerns and inquirieswith a customer-service mindset.Support in the investigation process with documentation practices,researchand other assigned tasks as related.

  • Assistour internal stakeholders by reviewing and filtering initial contact/inquiries from employees to ensure they are properly supported andprovidedcorrect guidance and resources as it relates to benefits, LOA, WC etc.

  • Work on employee scheduling and support efforts to notify employees of shift assignments or changes; ensuring scheduling aligns with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) framework.

  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.This includes but is not limited to I-9 and E-Verifying processing.

  • Provide administrative support to the HR team, such as data entry, filing, responding to general HR inquiries, and preparing reports and/or communications.

  • Participatein HR initiatives and provide flexible support during high-volume periods.

  • Demonstratea commitment to See’s core principles and workplace values, including respect, integrity, teamwork, diversity, and inclusion. 

  • Complete other duties and specialprojects asassigned by HR management. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience in an HR Coordinator or similar role; Workday experience strongly preferred

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities 

  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite and Workday 

  • Ability tomaintainconfidentiality and handle sensitive information 

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation 

  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed during peak season during August – January  

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Ability to work on site in Carson, CA.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Workday ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems)

  • Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices

  • Previousexperience in retail, manufacturing, or seasonal hiring

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, in addition to a full range of generous medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
