Who We Are

Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region. The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. This multidisciplinary team leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network.

What You'll Do

• Assists the Design Manager in daily tasks.
• Manages the civil/structural constructability reviews of the ONxpress design packages in close collaboration with the Construction team.
• Coordinates and allocates submittals, RFIs, and other design documents to the design team, other ONxpress teams, and the client.
• Identifies, monitors, mitigates, and escalates issues that could potentially put the success of the project at risk.
• Identifies opportunities for advanced works based on third-party projects and opportunities and highlights them to the Design Manager to develop a plan for construction planning.
• Works closely with the Integrated Digital Delivery team to enhance digital processes related to ONxpress scope for estimating and construction activities.
• Maintains a good collaborative environment between the construction and design teams, helping to resolve any issues raised by the construction team.
• Performs constructability reviews of the ONxpress design packages, focusing on interface enabling projects.
• Ensures the project progresses by completing, assigning, and monitoring day-to-day tasks and providing updates to management.
• Works with a multidisciplinary team comprising employees, delivery partners, consultants, and contractors to deliver high-quality products and services, and oversees the day-to-day delivery of project team members involved in the coordination and administration of project elements.

What You Bring:

• A strong academic foundation with a University or College Degree in engineering or business.
• Over 4 years of experience in design coordination, ensuring seamless collaboration and effzcient project workflows.
• More than 5 years of hands-on experience in construction environments, contributing to the successful delivery of complex projects.
• Proven expertise in civil works and structural project delivery, with additional experience in transportation service sectors such as rail, transit, aviation, and ports—bringing a well-rounded perspective to project execution.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills to effectively manage tasks, coordinate teams, and convey critical project information.
• A commitment to professional excellence, with licensure as a Professional Engineer considered a valuable asset

Expected compensation for this role is between $70,000.00-80,000.00 annually. Base salaries are determined according to multiple factors including skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into consideration. In addition to base salary ONxpress also offers a comprehensive medical and dental program, RRSP with company matching and the potential to participate in our discretionary, performance based bonus program.
